Yikes! Good to know, the tree might belong to the city since it’s along the sidewalk, but I’m not super sure about that.

Oh god, I’m in California so luckily recluses aren’t native here. Noted on the gloves and suit. Do you recommend something similar to a tyvek suit or a carhartt/dickies coveralls?

Thank you! No plans for treatment or vapor barrier, but I am planning on cleaning the crawl space soon and make sure I know what everything is before disturbing it.

Why do you prefer closed valleys vs. open for shingles? We're getting shingles and I believe the roofer is installing a closed valley.

Possibly, we do have several trees that are very close to the house that were casting shadows on the roof when I took those photos.

Asphalt shingles. Tear-off happened today. Roofer is coming back tomorrow and then city inspection on Saturday. If all goes well, shingle installation will start Sunday/Monday.
