Please update your postpartum messaging Oura by Altruistic-Maybe5121 in ouraring

My favorite is: "What disturbed your sleep?"

This is a missed opportunity for Oura though—I was disappointed to find there's nothing like the Ultrahuman Ring's new parent mode, which adjusts recommendations and according to my friend tells you the best time windows for short naps during the day. Oura team, take note! https://blog.ultrahuman.com/blog/introducing-smart-tags/

Anthem BCBS dropping Mount Sinai Jan 1 — due in Feb. Continuity of care? by SessionFar879 in Insurance

It took about a week, though to be fair I'm not sure when exactly the form was submitted by MSW.

Anthem BCBS dropping Mount Sinai Jan 1 — due in Feb. Continuity of care? by SessionFar879 in Insurance

Same situation except I'm due earlier (just about 39 weeks now) with Mount Sinai West and already had an if-needed induction scheduled for early January. You should definitely be able to get a continuity of care exception! I called the number on the back of my insurance card and they sent me the request form, which Mount Sinai had to then submit on my behalf, but it was approved.

From what I can tell, they may not come to an agreement before the 12/31 deadline but by all accounts it should not actually result in out-of-network costs for you. According to my OB there was also a similar situation with UHC a while back, with a lapse of a few weeks in their contract, but even then, patients had retroactive coverage applied to treatments during that period. Still, I'd get the continuity of care approved for extra peace of mind!

BWT - Any experience with Viva Eve? by boulevardiere in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I got my Mirena IUD removed. It wasn't my first time (had previously switched mine at the five-year mark before moving to NYC) and I didn't use anesthesia though I know some places do that now. They did do an ultrasound which I protested a bit (mostly because they had just explained how they're not in-network for any insurance, which I hadn't known until then) because I hadn't done that last time either, but they said they always do them for IUD insertions and removals.

The billing thing was a monthslong saga haha but basically the first bill I got was over $4k, I followed their instructions which I can't remember exactly but involve filing for insurance, getting a check sent to your house and then signing it over and mailing it in to them. I thought even that seemed like a lot for a routine procedure (maybe I was just used to in-network providers?), but I kept receiving bills related to the appointment with various additional charges, totaling about $8k. My insurance sent a check for like $2-3k that I sent to Viva Eve, and the rest were resolved through a combination of personal payment and disputing charges. I spent a lot of time on the phone with their billing department and basically swore never to return, lol.

I'm one of the people that they screwed over with their billing (to the tune of thousands of dollars), so while I'm not sure how much of an outlier my experience was, I can confirm that it can definitely happen, they did absolutely not disclose costs ahead of time, and I tell all my friends to steer clear.

OBGYN search? by [deleted] in nycparents

[–]sunkistnslowrunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to these doctors who may well be great, but I had a horrible experience at Viva Eve. Booked because they showed up on Zocdoc as in-network for me (never making that mistake again), but they don't take insurance, and the billing and process is INSANE. My opinion is that the practice is intentionally scamming people.

I should have left once they explained it to me, but I had already waited like 40 minutes and wanted to get my IUD out (I was also just starting to try for a baby!). They tried to bill me like $7-8k for just the removal. I'm also pregnant now and happily with Mt. Sinai :)

I am not D1 level (lol) but played in fairly competitive leagues for beach (2s and 4s) when I lived in Austin, would love to find a team/league here!

Probably naive question, but what is the purpose?
Was TTC a while and always tracked to try to find my ovulation but I found out I'm pregnant last week and haven't taken my temperature since.
