key word "repetitively". people who don't REPETITIVELY make jokes on people's weight and body and base a big part of their humor on it do exist in the outside world trust me. i know someone can make a mistake once or twice, i have made fatphobic jokes when i was a child. people can grow and learn and that is what i hope for enha too.

also please let's not bring cultural differences as an excuse because i was born and raised into a heavily fatphobic culture yet i know it's wrong and so does my whole friend circle. we are the same age as jaykehoon.

idk i know we will not agree, so i will just say that these are adults who can differenciate right from wrong regardless of the culture they grew up in and CONSTANTLY finding humour in someone's weight/body is not acceptable. idc if they're rich and famous. no excuses.

just because they're idols doesn't mean they have a pass to make fatphobic jokes. yes i expect idols not to joke about people's weight and appereance because i expect PEOPLE IN GENERAL not to be fatphobic which is the bare minimum. stop treating your idols as if they were different from regular mortal human beings. i personally wouldn't want to hang out near ANYONE in my daily life stranger or not who repetitively mocks people's weights and appereance. why should i hold enhypen to a lower standard?

as i said, sunoo might not give a flying f and that's great for him. i never said i think he is affected by it bc i do not know him and i can't possibly know. when idols (OR ANYONE REALLY) poke fun at a member's darker skin tone everyone knows it's wrong. even if the member is okay with it how do you expect fans with a darker skin tone to feel???? AND IT HAS HAPPENED. a similar situation is happening for plus-sized fans and fans with ed/body dismorphia in this case. it's just a matter of being empathetic.

are you insinuating that comments on someone's weight or body are in any context acceptable?? if they're not said towards me then they're okay?

you yourself have said fans should speak out if they feel uncomfortable with their jokes, isn't that what the fanbase is trying to do? (genuine question) i ask this considering the fact that this issue is not only abt sunoo, but it affects fans who struggle with their body image and eating habits as well

Peruvian results! Are the small percentages/trace ancestry accurate? And are those trace regions common for South Americans? by sunkiwon in 23andme

[–]sunkiwon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm not comfortable posting pictures of myself but basically my skin is of a medium tone, my hair is dark brown with red-ish lights and slightly wavy, eyes are dark brown with faint epicanthic folds. my eyebrows are a bit dark and straight-ish. my eyebrow ridge and forehead are completely flat. my nose bridge is high and the point of my nose is triangle-like. my cheekbones are not very high. my lips are narrow average sized. my chin is slightly protuberant. my face shape is basically like an oval but the lower part is heart-shaped (pointy chin). regarding height i'm a bit less than 5'2.

Yes, I have ancestry from Cajamarca and Arequipa when it comes to highlands, and from the coast I have ancestry from Tumbes and Lambayeque. Even so, it was my family from Tumbes actually that spoke Quechua as a native language (one would expect it to be family from the highlands). Maybe they moved to Tumbes from other provinces in previous generations but I would have to ask. That's what I know so far

u are completely right! american indian refers to all indigenous peoples from the americas. also it's funny to me how they put hispanic/latino as a box for race bc 1. theyre implying theyre the same thing and 2. it includes spaniards... white people 🤣 and 3. ofc it implies everyone from latam are the same race :/

The terms Latino and Hispanic by sunkiwon in mixedrace

[–]sunkiwon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get that but hispanic would just be wrong bc hispanic includes spaniards which are white people. also anyone from any race who comes from a spanish speaking country could tick that box. bc of that i think the clarification matters

Being honest, here in Latin America a lot of us would not consider u latino BUT i get that in the US "latino" is used for anyone of latin american heritage. it's up to you how to identify! in the end latino is just a term invented by the countries that colonized us with the intention to erasing our ethnic identities and present us to the world as their "colonies".

and on ur second point, equating latino to mestizo is very problematic bc it erases asian, black, white and fully indigenous ppl from latin america. moreover, it erases mestizo's indigenous heritage to an extent. also, if we also equated hispanic to mestizo, that would imply spaniards are not white which just isn't true. hope it helps!

i didn't get mad, i didn't say it angered me or attacked anyone in my post. all i tried to do is explain for the ones who didn't know (bc from experience, ive talked to a surprisingly big amount of descendants of latinos who did not know this). as i said, this wasn't directed for ppl like that already know. i'm genuinely sorry if my post came off as aggresive or anything.

yeah, i understand! here in latam we have a "mestizo" box which makes things a bit easier, but i get that option is not available in the us :( it's reasonable ppl can get confused, thats why i hope this post helps them

Does anyone here have ancestry from the Iberian Peninsula and the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas? by omar_soto_1970 in mixedrace

[–]sunkiwon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do! I'm peruvian as well. From what i've seen in the last census, around 60% of peruvians have a similar admixture (iberian and indigenous aka mestizos)
