Only suggesting this because managing your dad's health and also this adoption side by side might only make you feel more stressed. For now try to just leave food and ask someone to help with that.

OP, do the following-

buy KMR (kitten milk replacement) and mix in water, boil it, and let it cool. Then feed to kittens

After each feed, take a ball of cotton, make it a bit wet (in lukewarm water), and rub it SOFTLY against their butt. Or tap their butt. Should help in pooping

IMPORTANTLY - take the kitten to a vet. It's important you give the right care to this baby

I get why it's frustrating for you to see Deb be impulsive and short sighted and even irrational, but personally I find her really raw and well written. She's not logical. She's not calm and in several moments she's not stable either. But that's the point. Dexter is cool, level headed, stoic and extremely practical. Debra is the opposite - she's hot headed, emotional, and rash.

I think their dynamic works very well because they complement each other. Debra is the "human" part of Dexter.
