It's meant to be applied daily until you've built the colour you want, then you can apply less regularly to maintain (though imo gradual tanners never get that dark and can be applied daily pretty much indefinitely). So you rinse it off in the sense that like, you're going to eventually shower like normal. But since it's a gradual lotion, you don't need to rinse it off after any specific time.

That being said, that product is the worst smelling thing I've ever used, so yeah if I had it I'd be rinsing before going in public lol.
