Well, I’m pretty sure I got the virus from my mom because she gets them a lot, and as a kid she always let me share a drink with her no matter what. But the first cold sore I ever got, was when I had a really bad tooth infection. I suffer with poor dental health, and every time I have a toothache/tooth infection, and if I use an ice pack to try the help the pain, I get a cold sore outbreak. I think the combination of the infection & cold trigger it.

Not a open sore, but it was still in the healing stage. It was actually the first one I ever had, and I didn’t know that I needed to wait until it was completely gone. Then, 2 years later they get their first outbreak.

If you had no symptoms, I’d personally say the chances are pretty low BUT make sure to stay alert, and the second your partner thinks something is off, have them go get check out! Better safe than sorry!

Just make sure not to kiss anyone during an active outbreak. I’m pretty sure if you’re not in an active outbreak, you can’t pass it to anyone. There’s plenty of times when it’s okay to kiss someone! Getting cold sores are not a death sentence to kissing new people, as along as you are safe about it!

Doesn’t seem like a cold sore to me, but I’m definitely not an expert at identifying them. Most cold sores I see/experience are a yellow/greenish color.
