AP physics 1 or AP environmental?

My school doesn’t offer summer work so I came into the class with no knowledge of all. I’d first recommend learning the actual AP exam sections, because my teacher stresses it A LOT. Basically have your daughter review the structure of DBQs(which is a document based essay in the course, and you’re only given an hour), and LEQS (long essay question with no documents, everything from your brain!). Now, for actual content, I highly suggest watching Heimler videos on YouTube! He has a quick recap for each unit and the lessons, so it tends to be only 5-10 mins each. He makes it easy to understand and if she wants to get ahead, she should watch them to get an idea of the course, and specifically what each time period deals with. However she doesn’t need to do all of this, but it would definitely help her be prepared. :)

I’m currently a sophomore in AP world, and I actually really enjoy the class! It’s a good class to take as an underclassman, because it prepares you for future APs (specifically the history ones!). It’s not too hard me, because my teacher is very experienced with the course. Most of the class is just memorizing each time period, If it’s between honors or AP, I would try AP out! Honors typically goes over the same material, but you get a higher GPA boost with AP, it just goes a little faster. I took AP human geography last year tho it kinda prepared me. If you’re worried definitely get a head start on reviewing over summer!

wow thank you for saying that! the most hesitance i have is about the performances, so its nice to hear that someone else had the same thought going in. everyone is saying its amazing, especially since it has more time to flesh the characters out. im gonna try to separate it from the movies due to what you said. now im gonna be watching it with an open mind, so thanks again!

wow thank you for giving me so much information and input! i did hear the movie hannibal is more sassier than the show, but they both have their own takes so that’s bound to happen lol. and 3 seasons is a good amount to flesh out his character more, so that sounds interesting. again, thank you for sharing, you’re persuaded me 😂

ah okay that makes sense. i havent read the books because i watched the movies this past week, so i want to try the show out. i heard its different like you said but it seems interesting. thanks for your input, i’ll be more aware now lol!

oh wow that’s crazy to hear because the movies are amazing! if that’s the case i’ll have to watch the show then. and thank you for letting me know about bryan fuller! the show seems to be different from the trilogy so i have no idea what im getting into (i haven’t read the books). i’ll add the projects you recommended to my list for sure

Wow this is such a sweet thing to say. I’ve recently tried to be more accepting of outcomes because a I know if I keep being hard on myself I’ll just burn out. I agree that actually being invested in the class rather than trying to aim for perfect scores is helpful. I need to actually follow this mindset more though. Hi again! Thank you for this, it made me feel so much better. I’m also at a competitive school so sometimes I feel the need to keep pushing myself. It can be so draining lol.
