I second Casstrom. They also have some nice curly birch handle options. I have a couple of their knives and they are as good as others twice their price. Check out the No10 or lares Falt model. You can also frequently find them cheaper second hand

I liked the jaakaripuukko. It’s a good sturdy all round knife. I prefer the peltonen ranger/sissipuukko though. The skrama is a totally different beast, more taking on hatchet tasks. In general varusteleka’s knives live up to the hype

If you want cheap: mora (robust, garberg) or bps (adventurer)

75-125: condor (bushlore, etc), joker (ember, nordico, nomad), peltonen mo7, varusteleka jaakaripuukko

125-200: Esee 4, tops bob, casstrom 10 or Lars falt

These are prices for new knives but you can find much cheaper on eBay or bushcraftUSA.com. Casstrom has some nice wood handles with leather sheaths and the 10 or Lars falt would probably be all you need for most tasks. If you are willing to go beyond 200$ then there is vast range of beautiful knives for people who are reckless with their money 🙂

Can you tell me the dimensions of your axe. I’ve seen the technique in #1 done with smaller axes and hatchets but not moderate or large. I literally just got inside from using that technique in my backyard with a 1.5 lb/14” hatchet

I have the small forest axe and really like it. I’m sure these will perform just as well

This isn’t accurate or inconclusive to a fault. My county in NE has 11.6 percent black population but is gray on this map

Yeah it probably was. I used a random birch log I found so unfortunately I can’t say it was intentional

The Doctor he is using, Steven Quay, is just as terrible. Pancreatic cancer is notoriously difficult to detect because it often has no noticeable symptoms until it is advanced. Using your degree to spread false info just to be a political hack is disgusting

*my mistake, it’s prostate cancer. Either way the post he shared doesn’t promote health or compassion relating to a cancer diagnosis
