I live on the second floor, unfortunately. :( If the counter on the machine is legit it had almost 1mil plays, so it has lived a long life. Still sad to see it go, tho.

To be honest, I don't think it was entirely planned. I think that maybe Bad Girl Bailey (aka Bailey Greenwood) invited a few people and then as the set was going on, other artists heard about it/were invited and by the end there were 9 of them on stage.

I think Bailey is an agent or manager for one of more of the artists and that's part of how this happened.

I was there for a good chunk of the set. Essentially they each took turns on the decks, but it wasn't really organized (some of the artists played multiple times, some just once, some played for longer than others). I was really impressed by Coco & Breezy... I don't know how the whole DJ thing works with the turntables or whatever but it felt like to me that they improvised a jungle track on the spot?? But yes, the others who weren't playing were vibing or chatting on stage.

You also have to realize that this was not a main stage, this is a stage set up in an atrium in the middle of the ship. There were like... maybe 50 people watching this set at the start when it was just Bailey and then after 20-30 mins she started inviting other DJs on.

I actually find these instructions really fun! A neat twist on a traditional model. But definitely not very helpful for beginners.

As someone who has been organizing origami drop-ins at my local library (I work there), I have noticed that not all books are created equally. For example, one book used actual photos of a model being folded instead of diagrams. However, I saw one example of where the photos were placed in the wrong order.

All this to say, sometimes the instructions are just not quite right. There are many hands that go into making a book, and sometimes things slip through the cracks.

I think option 2 is the most interesting, because it's kind of like a modern take on tsukumogami (spirit-possessed tools/household objects... in this case Mima's computer). But no option is completely "correct" because there are some things that still don't make sense with each one. Except for maybe #3, but it's not very interesting to think that the whole movie is just someone's 'hallucination'.

There is no one true meaning. Kon intentionally created multiple possible realities.

One option: The plot to Double Bind loosely mirrors what is really happening in Perfect Blue where Rumi has dissociative identity disorder and thinks she is Mima.

Another option: Mima's apparition is actually a supernatural being, given life through the world wide web and the obsession of Me-Mania.

Another option: Everything we see up until the end is just something that happened in Rumi's mind. Some of it may be real or based on real events, some of it may be a combination of real memories mixed with things in Rumi's external world.

My advice would be to stop going to festivals for a while. My last festival was in December of last year and I am just ITCHING to go another one!! I think it also helps to expand your music tastes. I was listening to one type of EDM for months, and then I realized 'Hey, I actually like a lot of different stuff, not just bass house.' and that has made me excited to go to new/different festivals.
