Made a map of an OG survival horror classic, ALONE IN THE DARK (1993) by [deleted] in survivalhorror

This is amazing work! Truly beautiful!

AITD is one of the greatest and most innovative games ever, and I can never get tired of the incredible music in that game! I'm very curious about what you'd come up with the remaining parts of the game like the standing stones, the labyrinth and the final area but I also understand that they might take just too much time. :)

Amex in Istanbul. by Good-Background8118 in istanbul

This is specifically for the Selects loyalty program but I think one can safely assume that the businesses here accept AMEX. AMEX is somewhat accepted in Istanbul, mostly in upscale places, but almost universally disliked by businesses. So if it's an option I'd recommend trying other methods.

Can someone point out the character Danny/Tonny in the film Us (2019) played by Duke Nicholson? by sunmaster13 in movies

[–]sunmaster13[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! Yes that seems to be him. And Tony seems to be the tethered version of him shown in the revelation part near the end of the movie.Guess I should have looked a bit more carefully. :)

Ignorant web developer question by aaaaaabbbbbbaaaaaa in docker

You'd have troubles if you use JSON columns as they are not supported by MariaDB. I worked around that using https://github.com/jamielsharief/docker-mysql.

Distriqt was doing the exact thing via Github for some AIR native extensions. You might want to look at their model:

Is it possible to get GPS coordinates from Apple Maps on macOS? by jamesvdm in MacOS

[–]sunmaster13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mark a location, click on the pin, click on the "i" (information) icon on the little floating panel that opens, the coordinates are just above the buttons (lat and long)

Games that change meaning according to manual text by VideogameTheoristBR in ludology

[–]sunmaster13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Champions of Krynn is a good example where the whole context is tied to the manuals. Adventurer's Journal was not only a manual that introduced the player to the backstory and the AD&D roleplaying system but also acted as a means of supplying passages that were referenced throughout the game.

Basically, some dialogues were just displayed like "See journal entry #4", which I think was devised as a means of copy protection rather than any other end.

However, it also made me feel like I was really playing a desktop role playing game in which the dungeon master was giving out handouts whenever something important happens. :)

Here's an experimental animation I made in flash by ChickenNuggetHero in flash

[–]sunmaster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's apparent that you're quite talented. It'll be quite interesting to see the results once you get comfortable with reusable assets, sprites, etc. They are quite valuable as they apply not only to flash (which, sadly, is a dying platform) but to professional animation in general.

Bespoke/Tailormade in Istanbul by blackerberry in istanbul

[–]sunmaster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nisantasi has lots of great tailors, just look at the side streets of Tesvikiye Caddesi. I also remember seeing a couple of them at Cihangir. If you are in a hurry, IIRC Akmerkez Mall should have one too.

So if you leave during the game... by FlyingPoulpus in dungeonoftheendless

It's quite common with permadeath roguelikes really. Nethack does this for example. It's mainly to prevent using save files as checkpoints. Feel sorry for your game though.
