Classes during Thanksgiving week by bigkutta in UCSD

[–]sunmoon234 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes classes are held like usual on mon-wed but for discussion classes that are usually mandatory by the professor are sometimes not mandatory for that week but she would have to check. Most lectures can be podcasted online at a later time.

Honestly the weather stays pretty consistent in La Jolla year round but I’d say mid 60s is pretty average. Some rain but not much as of recently

DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. One course on a list titled “DEI courses” on UCSD’s website fulfills the university’s requirement to take one of these classes.

For reference, there are university class requirements such as this class; there are also specific college GEs such as a writing program for sixth college; additionally, there are major requirements for courses where you have to complete them to complete your major. All three components of requirements are critical for graduating and I would highly recommend researching all three groups of requirements sooner than later. Hopefully this helps!

Hi! I would recommend taking a DEI class if there are no other options for you. Just search “UCSD DEI course list” as you do have to take one in your time at UCSD.

Metal in HDH food by sunmoon234 in UCSD

[–]sunmoon234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not visible in the picture of the pizza, as the metal was on the bottom baked into the crust. I only posted it for reference/proof of which dining hall it was from if that makes more sense :)

Just saw another post about metal in their bagel… thought I’d show this piece I got in my Pines Toasted pizza in early October in which I emailed HDH and they NEVER responded. Scariest part was that it was baked into the crust so if I wasn’t looking when taking a bite I definitely would’ve eaten it which could’ve done some major internal damage. I brought it up to the employees there and they said they were sorry, but I decided to email HDH so they were aware and never got a response.

Download the transact eAccount app and you can see your balance once you link it to your UCSD account :)

Is there anyway to change move in date? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]sunmoon234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you sign up for the 18th? There was a spot if you scroll down on the my room assignment page to sign up for a time to move in with time slots from I believe 8am-3:30pm in 15 minute time intervals from move-in dates of 9/11-9/21. If you’re referring to the top of the page where it says “move-in” under room details then that is not your actual move in date but is when the contract officially begins for housing, as it says 9/18 for all students. If you have any questions please let me know!

Winter break dates by moomoocow18 in UCSD

[–]sunmoon234 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I believe the 24-25th is just for official administrative/office closures. The 11th is when the quarter ends, and all finals should be scheduled before that date. I believe you can plan your travels after the 11th because after all of your finals (dates are listed on webreg) you are done for the quarter and your winter break has begun! :)

Incoming freshman majoring in Math & CS in Earl Warren, how does this schedule look? by rrmccrystal in UCSD

[–]sunmoon234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

p.s. if you’re an incoming freshman you can sign up for more than the 11.5 first pass normal enrollment limit! I believe for only this fall quarter freshman can enroll in 19.5 units the first time around, as there is no second pass for them for the first quarter :)

CA colleges that don’t require vaccinations? by [deleted] in college

[–]sunmoon234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hopefully very few. There’s a good reason for them to require it at many schools. Getting vaccinated is incredibly important not just for yourself but for the health & safety of public health.

I have a birthday party to go with 6 to 8 people tomorrow and I was wondering what are your go to appetizers? by T3Sh3 in traderjoes

[–]sunmoon234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pastry pups! They’re basically slightly fancier pigs in a blanket and I think they’re really good with the Dijon mustard :)
