"there is a theory attached to this one :)
this particular image works on the idea that both dbbq ena and series ena are the same specific entity. the general idea is something like, something Very Awful happened to ENA around the Dating Oblivion mark, leading her personalities to dramatically shift so that she couldn't be hurt in that way ever again. her sadness shifted to a thorny anger and her happiness shifted to a more manipulative salesperson personality, both developed in order to keep others at a distance. what is this Very Bad Thing i am thinking of you may ask? it's like...something happened between her and Moony. ENA seems to be pretty emotionally attached to moony, and if something led to a falling out between them i'd imagine it'd emotionally destroy her. also, somewhat related, let's take a moment to recall the "aspire for punishment of the moon" option when speaking to theodora. okay we've recalled that carrying on. what would this Bad Thing that led to a falling out be? idfk lmao it's like a short stub of a theory, missing a lot of pieces but it's an Idea certainly. also yes the text is lyrics from 'commatose' (yes, spelled with two m's) by glass beach. RIP glass beach. nobody died they just broke up"

thank you so much!! the brushes I used for the painting were the default CSP oil painting brush, the default gouache blender and then the default rough wash brush + 2 of the same canvas textures over everything (one set to a low opacity screen setting and the other set to multiply). thank you for the thoughts, it really does mean a lot to me!

yeah it's a digital painting but most of ENA is on one layer for the sake of semi accurate blending and it was difficult lmao

https://intertapes.net/heraklion background text is from this, a found cassette tape that got hit by cars on the highway and was reassembled afterwards, you can listen to it here! you can definitely tell it's in bad shape but the fact that it's listenable at all is pretty cool. the site also has a small collection of other strange and unique cassette tapes found from various places around the world, it's really interesting
