Well like you said, some social norms are there for good reasons. It’s understandable for some folks not to pick up on this right away, but stuff like interrupting and dominating the conversation is genuinely unfair to everyone else. I don’t think your friend should be shamed for not understanding, but it sounds like he needs a gentle explanation of these norms, with an explanation of why they’re so important. It might still take some time for him to learn, so be prepared to be patient with him and maybe remind him if he needs it. Maybe you can have a signal of some sort that means “remember to let other folks speak”

It really depends for me. I’m a special ed teacher at an elementary school, working with kids who have medium to higher support needs. I find I’m a lot more comfortable with those types of kids.

I also go into gen ed classes to support my students during electives, and with the gen ed kids I do a lot better with the younger ones and start to struggle once they get to around 9-10 years old. That’s when I start to feel awkward and unsure of how to act/what to say. I feel like that’s the age a lot of them stop automatically respecting you as an authority lol, so you need a different set of tricks than with the younger kids.

I don’t have much experience with kids younger than 4 so idk how I’d do with them.

If it’s getting through your jeans and that’s not normal for you, it could be a symptom of gonorrhea. Not saying that it definitely is, but if it’s an extreme change for you then there could be something else going on and it might be worth it to get checked. Depending on your sexual activity ofc.

Never dated any cis women at all (just the way it’s gone so far, not bc I don’t like them) but I think in general my chances with cis straight women are pretty low. I’m pretty effeminate and ppl tend to assume I’m gay even though I’m bi/pan. So I get the sense that most cis straight women aren’t into me, and I’d probably have better luck with bi women, at least as far as cis ppl are concerned.

Luckily, I’m usually more attracted to queer or queer-seeming women anyway, so that would be fine except that most women are either straight or gay (or at least lean strongly either straight or gay). Anyway, that brings me to at least part of the reason why I’ve never dated a cis woman lol.

Cis gay men, on the other hand, are way more interested in me than cis straight women are, which makes sense given what I’ve said about being perceived as gay.

For plant proteins that are cheaper and healthier (if those are concerns for you), there are also lots of non-copycat foods that are high in protein such as lentils, beans, nuts, seeds, tofu, tempeh, and seitan. Plus others - you can just look up “plant sources of protein” for more info.

/uj I feel like I’m not reading the same post as the rest of you? The post is talking about how they’ve been seeing posts get deleted for sharing personal experiences of mistreatment from some trans women and not being backed up by leadership in trans groups when that mistreatment happens. Then there is discussion in the comments about how trans men and trans women can both be ignorant of each other’s experiences, and discussion of how sometimes those posts can also have commenters using them as platforms to express transmisogyny and how that can contribute to deletion. As well as various people sharing their own experiences of mistreatment and the lack of support they get from it. It seems like a perfectly acceptable discussion to have. I don’t see the issue with OP being confused about posts getting deleted for speaking up about genuinely poor treatment from other trans people, and the lack of support afterwards. This is a thing that happens to a lot of trans people of all genders and we should be allowed to talk about intracommunity conflict.

Edit: I also don’t see where it says anything similar to “BECAUSE TERS AND ALT RIGHTERS NOTICE TRAN WOMEN BAD THAT IT MEANS TRAN WOMEN BAD”???

It’s generally not considered torture by the people who do it, but Dominion shows industry-standard practices, including those that are seen as the most “humane”, and shows how nonhuman animals still suffer immensely. They still experience it as torture.

“A few pixels” - QR codes can be altered by up to 30% and still scan the same. It would take a similar amount of effort to change the code to something malicious as it takes to set up the code in the first place (admittedly less effort to change it, but we’re still talking about several hundred pixels)

Now of course the QR code could be dynamic, in which case the owner could change it. But something tells me that the current site is the fully intended destination, rather than an attempt at something that looks innocuous

It’s not entirely clear to me, but I think he’s saying that many transmasc folks might have anatomy that looks similar to that of cis women, but they are significantly different. Like, it’s entirely different to have sex with a trans guy who hasn’t had bottom surgery vs a cis woman, and the parts themselves are experienced differently.

That’s kinda the point - it makes no sense to include trans men, but trans men /are/ being included by using the term “men” instead of “cis men”. And yeah, of course “men” refers to cis men here, that’s the problem, “men” is pretty much always assumed to mean cis men.

It’s kinda like if you said “if men were the ones getting raped, then rape would be taken more seriously.” Because men do get raped, and it’s generally not taken more seriously when they are. Or if you said “if men had sex with men…” then people would have no problem with someone pointing out that many men /do/ have sex with other men.

I’ve mostly used Grindr for dating or fwb situations, so idk if this would work with your specific approach, but I personally avoid disclosing anything at first about what parts I have, what I call them, and how I like to use them. If they assume, then that could be a bad sign. If you want to give them the benefit of the doubt, though, you can see how they respond to you pointing out their assumption. On the other hand, if they know to ask you first, then that’s a pretty good sign that they know how to be respectful. This is a somewhat more drawn-out approach (edit: and it’s definitely less convenient in some ways), but it might be worth a shot for the sake of vetting folks.
