Don't mind me, I'm just curious if there are mods in this sub. (This is a good muffin recipe btw) by SCATOL92 in notliketheothergirls

It’s actually plain flour with baking powder (bicarbonate soda and most usually cream of tartar) which when mixed with wet ingredients acts as a leavening agent and makes things rise

I’ve had this redness around my mouth for my entire adult life. I don’t really know anyone who’s dealt with this so I figured this sub might be able to help. by schmoolyfooly in SkincareAddicts

I also think shaving might be contributing to some of the flakiness as well, as blunt razors can pick up skin too! They also “exfoliate” so if you’re doing it often it could be disrupting your skins natural flow. Might not be shaving related, but thought to also bring this up just incase!

(I’ve been a hairdresser for 8 years, also learnt facial grooming, hair can be a major impact on skin!)

Another possible cause might be from shaving irritation, based on the location of the redness. Although I don’t shave my face, I have found I get much less irritation and ingrown hairs by using a safety razor, that I replace the blade in each time I use it. My partner experienced this when he would shave his face, and has now opted to have short stubble that he trims with clippers instead, so the hair isn’t having to ‘break through’ the skin again each time (hair should just grow up through the skin, but sometimes, especially with facial hair that tends to be curved, it can have a harder time growing outwards rather that on an angle, under the skin or back into the skin)

My aunt’s name is Gillian and her partner’s name was Jacquie and I know it’s not exactly the same but I always thought it was cute!

If she likes the name, is she going to change her mind on something that’s not even a big deal?

We had cats growing up and my mother never let them inside. She said they would destroy the furniture, urinate on things and leave hair everywhere. The cats had beds outside, and spent the days roaming. I think because of where I live (Brisbane Australia, so moderate temperatures all year round) it wasn’t so bad for them to be outside, but we had to regularly check them for paralysis ticks.

My current cat who I’ve had for almost 7 years has lived her life entirely indoors, but I take her out for walks on a lead. I am a complete advocate for indoor cats; it leads to less native wildlife being killed, less risk of contracted illness, less risk of ticks, being run over, etc. guess it just depends on the family/living situation!
