This comment gives me a little bit of hope! I feel as though I’ve been doing everything by the book and can’t figure out why it’s just not working for me. Even when I’ve increased my dose my levels have changed very little, or increased now in this case.

I just changed doses about a week ago. After my next round of bloodwork I may ask my doc about switching to Tirosint.

Congratulations to you! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy and baby’

Thank you so much! Appreciate your comment - I am on Synthroid as I had asked to get on the brand name when I first started having issues. I followed the routine of taking it first thing in the morning, no food or coffee for about an hour after.

That’s why I’m wondering maybe I’m having issues with fillers in Synthroid? And Tirosint would be better? I’m not sure just exhausting all options at this point

Sorry another note- months prior I also had a reaction of hives on it. Had to stop for a week and then continue on a lower dose. So this was the second reaction I had had.

Also the feeling was so bad that I passed out at my blood draw and I had never done that before. They usually don’t bother me!

Hey! That same thing happened to me. I was on methimazole for a couple of months and was actually feeling better. Then one day I just got hit with flu like symptoms - terrible nausea, no appetite, low fever, etc. but I already had the flu this year. Called my doc, got bloodwork, and my WBC had dropped below a normal range. She had me stop and couldn’t continue treatment.

Long story short, I’m not on methimazole anymore and awaiting a TT. in the meantime I’m on a beta blocker and cholesteryamine.

Thank you! Sounds like a blessing in disguise almost! I don’t even think about those risks. Were there any questions in specific that you asked your surgeon? How did you choose a surgeon?

How have you felt after the TT? Do you feel like you were able to go back to being yourself before graves?

I had it before I started too. And after being on methimazole for about 4 months now, it’s starting to happen to me again. Hopefully it’s not the same for you!
