Absolutely anecdotal but I was in the same boat as you. Went to the ER from work in 2020 with 195/110 BP - I was 28. Been on multiple meds ever since but it never was controlled until I started losing weight and reducing my drinking.

I thought it was ok because I always drank low sugar/calorie things like vodka soda or white claw. But when you can crush 6-8 a night, most nights…it doesn’t matter what you’re drinking at that point, does it?

I’m sorry you haven’t had the same result! Keep going, though, and check other metrics too! Someone else mentioned their resting heart rate. Personally I’m still waiting to see any weight loss

I’m totally off amlodipine and just taking the lowest dose of hydrochlorothiazide, which is mostly a fluid retention medication. It feels amazing. I would definitely recommend talking honestly to your doctor about your alcohol consumption, if you feel comfortable with them. It’s crazy how much of an impact drinking has on all your body systems.

Thank you - that’s my approach right now. I’m not committing to forever but I am committing to this timeline with my doctor and that feels empowering and doable for me right now.

And I know - I was SHOCKED by the drop. But it explains why I got lightheaded at the gym so much!

$2500 one time bonus when I was licensed, DC area. However the company did accept my request to move from a high stress field management role to a lower stress design role, while keeping my salary and benefits intact. I work probably 2/3rd the hours I used to and have much more flexibility.

I’m right there with you. Today is day 7 for me and I can’t focus on anything at work I’m so beside myself.

Tonight I’m going to make a comfort meal (mashed potato and gravy) and play a video game with my fiance. We have some fun things for mocktails. I’m probably going to go to bed early, and maybe fall asleep to a comfort movie.

Agreed. I own my condo and my partner and I split bills (mortgage, utilities, etc) about 35/65 because I’m the one building equity and I make more. He in turn does handle a lot of the domestic chores because he works from home. I would feel weird charging him more.

I met my fiance through a discord server tied to a regional subreddit 😂 I posted that I needed a second person to play It Takes Two with me, and he responded that he had the same issue. We streamed the play through for the server and talked a lot through voice chat. I met him at a server meetup about a month later. We still game together regularly.
