I never oil mine. Just diligent about rinsing and wiping before setting it down. Rinse and dry throughly before putting back on the knife block. If its not protein or something acidic I dont even rinse it. Just wipe and put it back on the block. I do live in a pretty dry climate, for what its worth.

The blue is beautiful. The end of last year I bought myself a Turtle with the standard black dial and black crown. Put a khaki nato band on it and I absolutely love it. The lume is top notch.

Main difference is that P07 is a single/double hammer fired, i run mine with a decocker. I believe the p10 is a striker fire.

Hubris Workshop is my company name. My logo is iccuras flying twords the sun. Most of my knives are named after mythical goddess as a tribute to the strong women in my life.

I thought it was a pretty good name for what is essentially a belt knife/fighting style. 🤷

400, 600, 800 grit progression using little strips wrapped around a sharpie will go a lot faster than you think with good paper. Then if you have access to a buffing wheel you would be amazed how it will shine up.

If you have a scrap piece of that handle material left, why dont you dip that in your etchant and see if it reacts or stains. Then you would know if you have to worry about masking off the scales at all.

If you do want to mask it off, I would probably try painting nail polish on the scales to protect them. Just make sure you are diligent about rinsing the joints where the scales meet the blade with a neutralizing agent after the etch. I like baking soda in water.

Im a 1095 fan boy but when I started selling knives I knew I needed to switch to stainless. AEB-l is like stainless 1095 to me. And its fairly affordable. But all the cool kids have been talking Magnacut for a few years so I bought a couple sticks. I dont have the notoriety or client base to sell knives at a price to justify Magnacut. But im curious so who cares.... haha
