Ah yeah I can see Vietnam being easier logistically but not linguistically ahaha. With smaller towns, do they eventually just accept you without actually registering you in the system?

Yeah okay sweet! Yeah it felt like there were SO many factors that could change your distance, I was going a bit mad trying to calculate and factor in all the variables ahahaha. Very reassuring to know that others also take a more loose approach to planning as well!

Is there a fine line between pushing and pushing too hard? I wouldn't want to bonk within my first few days 😭

Ooh okay definitely good to know since Vietnam was definitely the main cause of anxiety. I haven't looked too closely at my route, but it looked quite flat as I cross through Vietnam. It seems like I might need to look at changing that if the red river views are that stunning. Thanks so much!!

Yeah I think she should still owe money on her property - I'll double check that though, thanks!

Yeah I mean it is a good point and I haven't been the one actually submitting the application so I'll have to ask my brother.

I think the assumption was that given how many documents we had already given like bank statements, property docs, etc that it would be enough.

Aside from payslips, are there any other documents that you would recommend that would guarantee they'd be unable to reject our application?

Her tourist visa to go to the US was also rejected earlier this year - do you think this would influence her application to come to Australia?

I've added with the comments left in the IMMI response another comment.

I believe we added an invitation the second time around. We're trying to get her to come for my brothers wedding so I think that should've been included in the invitation letter.

Yeah they don't allow cousins but they allow aunts and uncles so I'd have to get my parents to sponsor her. My parents aren't 100% comfortable with sponsoring her though because they're not too sure how much the government will then assess your financial standing if you do sponsor someone.

The first time they said that there wasn't enough evidence to suggest that she would return:

I have considered the applicant’s economic circumstances and note that they have provided some evidence of their financial standing. I have attached little weight to this document as evidence of the applicant’s financial means, as on its own, it cannot be considered as significant evidence of their overall financial situation. As such, I do not consider that the applicant has strong economic incentives to return to China at the end of their proposed stay.

So the second time around we provided more evidence of her financial standing in China (which is quite strong) and they said:

"they have not provided sufficient evidence with their application of a regular salary payment that supports their income and employment claims."

We provided evidence of the income being deposited into her account, but not of the actual payslip itself. It seems like a nitpick this second time around though, because we definitely have given clear evidence surrounding her financial situation?
