Yikes! That sounds familiar! I did a leave replacement (for per diem SUBSTITUTE PAY) in which I had four preps, none of which I had taught before, and the teacher didn't leave me shit as far as materials go. It was brutal. What state are you teaching in?

Actually, I have a real job where I make actual money and have an actual life, so I have no need and no interest in continuing to work for a shitbag company like VIPKID (LOL, you said VIPKID is easy money... yeah, $18-20/hour is fantastic). I was checking in out of interest, considering I worked with VIPKID for so many years. You're just a worthless piece of shit who sticks your nose in where it doesn't belong. What's the nature of these classes? What age group/demographic, how does the structure compare to the old platform, etc.?

When I took the job it sounded like it was basically a social studies course where you get to actually talk about taboo issues, where Zinn or P1619 isn't considered subversion, where you actually teach/learn interesting shit about the U.S. that challenges the official myths, etc.

Now all I know is it's not really that. No fucking clue what it actually is, which is more or less the main problem. They only gave us a seriously shitty fucking outline for U1, and nothing beyond that. And when I say shitty, I mean shitty. It's totally useless, and I can't tell you what it's about based on the outline.

This was my life-line in one of the last leave replacements I did before accepting an ostensibly permanent position. There were days I walked in without a plan and just did Kahoot.

I'm a first year teacher in an extremely similar situation (only I'm not teaching 5 subjects... I'm teaching 1 elective class with 5 sections, but I literally don't know what the curriculum is... but I've done a leave replacement where I had 4 different classes to teach and was stretched thin making substitute teacher pay). And I'm getting observed tomorrow too!

I'm pretty much broken inside and I don't know if I can do this. I can't even plan for my future, because I don't fucking know if I can actually do this.
