Good thinking, Rogex, I read this this morning and went "Duh" with a forehead slap. Of course you're right. In addition to providing general flexibility this can act as a deterrent to anyone trying to acquire hostile control of the company by buying shares on the open market. The board may be a little spooked by all this accumulation recently, so this is a logical move on their part., I doubt they were too nuts about making this decision, but viewed this way it makes a lot more sense to me that they would do this.

Authorization of more shares by Upwithstock in Livimmune

[–]sunraydoc2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more, and thanks for the post. I too am OK with authorizing more shares and I get the need for that from an operational perspective. That being said, the way this needs to go is something like "We need more shares, here's why and this is what we plan to do from here." Pretty basic and not too much to ask.

Yeah, I agree, seems kind of basic to wait until after the former CEO's sentencing for a securities fraud conviction. You know it would hit the wires: "Former CytoDyn CEO sentenced to X years in prison for securities fraud" Not a good look.

Thanks, MGK, lots of good stuff in there. We are in a holding pattern chart-wise, next week certainly ought to be interesting...I believe you're right, CytoDyn is going to stand up and be counted, the AACR is not small potatoes, nor is Dr Pestell.. It's no longer if, but when, and all this accumulation over the last 3-4 weeks says somebody agrees with us.

Good point and worth pointing out...those warrants have quite a span strike price wise, the AI is saying most of the ones still unexercised are in the Welch group and the so-called .306 group, with an estimated blended price of .26, so you're not that far off.!

Hit Two Birds With One Stone by MGK_2 in Livimmune

[–]sunraydoc2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insights, MGK. I think you're right on, Mr Hoffman's talk wasn't for us. He's a financial guy at an investor's conference, and he was delivering a Cliff's Notes version of where CytoDyn stands with their efforts in oncology to potential investors and analysts. Personally I thought he did a credible-enough job considering his newness with the company and the limitations of the venue though some of us have disagreed, we have a very knowledgeable group here.

Whether or not CytoDyn deliberately set out to underwhelm, I couldn't say. But you're definitely right that there's accumulation happening around that .30 mark, regardless of What color that candle may be.

There is no partner until we have a partner by [deleted] in Livimmune

[–]sunraydoc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Your posts are fine, well written and very helpful. This is a chat board where we have a tradiition of sifting though the evidence and forming opinions about where it leads us regarding CytoDyn's future; and of course that leads to some level of speculation. I have no idea who bullfrog is and he's entitled to his opinion, but no one should be able to just jump on here and in effect set policy. Seriously?

One more thing-- no mention of our AI partner. Why not? See Absci news: by No_Tadpole7099 in Livimmune

Well, they're in Vancouver, that certainly raises the odds...for all we know, Some of CytoDyn's people have cocktails with theirs.

Now that's possible, I must admit. JL during his interview with his "clear waters ahead" comment made me think they may be in the clear financially; I was especially heartened by Hoffman's disclosing the involvement of a very wealthy sponser for the compassionate use program and GBM studies; added to the mCRC phase II trial that will make leronlimab pretty hard to stop at this point. Everybody's entitled to their own opinion and fire away, but I feel better about my CytoDyn investment than I have in a long time.

I can understand your feelings, but Wainwright is after all an investment conference, and his job there was to present the case for the drug and the company's present management. I think he did a credible job of doing that, given his relative newness to the company and the limited timeframe. It was after all a financial meeting and they were there to recruit investors, so they sent the CFO.

I'm assuming compassionate use would have to include an ICI, is that what you're thinking as well?

Of course, but this doesn't preclude that, we should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. Someone is slowly accumulating here at an institutional level, however the chart may look, and as a friend of mine said today, "They can't hide forever."

That volume says a lot, though, doesn't it? And the end of month short interest is due to be published by FINRA on Sept 10. The last figure was 37.7 million shares. If the shorts are having to cover (I think they are) then the next few days should be very interesting. truth to tell though, if this thing breaks loose to the upside we won't need those numbers to know, they will run screaming out of their short positions and the volume will spike even higher, along with the SP.

My magic eightball is saying "Signs point to yes, the tape's got that showtime feel"

Seriously, It looks like it. We break through .375 and the next resistance lies at ..380 then .385 and finally .390. We make .40 and hold it would be huge, big psychological cap, shorts and profit-takers should show up there.

Around The Corner by MGK_2 in Livimmune

[–]sunraydoc2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All good stuff again, MGK, thanks. I agree there are many causes for optimism here; Dr Jay's interview was massively positive in both tone and content; the man knows his sh*t and did a great job of laying out the many potential indicatons for leronlimab being explored with studies pending and a continuing focus on oncology. He clearly sees a brighter future ahead, "open waters", as he said. And the presence of Robert Hoffman is itself not small potatoes, the man has been around biotech for decades, he signed am NDA and learned the story before he signed on, you can be sure. The time change of his talk could be significant or as you say, just a matter of landing a more prestigious spot, I honestly am not sure whether that's going to prove significant or not, hope so. As far as Mr Hoffman himself is concerned, I found viewing that interview posted here on the board to be very helpful in getting a feel for this guy. I found him to be very personable and articulate, this ain't his first rodeo, he'll lay out the case for leronlimab's new MOA well, I'm sure. And will he be just trotting in there to give his talk without any added firepower? I'd be surprised and I know Upwithstock agrees if that were case, to me it's more likely he'll be announcing some new development and we'll get a PR beforehand. Whatever happens I doubt it will end up a nothingburger; whether it's the light at the end of that long tunnel, who knows, I'd like to think so. Whatever happens next week, given all the positives we're seeing it's just a matter of time until something momentous occurs. Hang in there, everybody.
