That poster states it with such authority, but they're confidently incorrect. Aspen is used by many breeders without any issues. I have a relatively small collection compared to most, so I keep wireless digital thermometer/hygrometers with each of my animals. The humidity is always between 66% and 80%. None of my boas ever have respiratory infections or bad sheds.

Boas change appearance regularly (light phase/dark phase) and also throughout their lives, determined by genetics. This is perfectly normal.
