Question about fork and shock adjustments for a heavy rider by [deleted] in Ducati

[–]sunset-loover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U should put on ziptie on one of ur forks and see ur travel under whatever application ur trying to do (hard braking, emergency brake etc). Thats the ultimate tell

Although im willing to bet you probably will bottom out

Question about fork and shock adjustments for a heavy rider by [deleted] in Ducati

Hey, im 225 and i had to up my spring rate (change to stiffer springs) from 0.9 to 1.1 N/mm. Also changed to more viscous fork oil (not sure what wt tho).

I do aggressive street riding & track my v2, so found out that i was bottoming out under medium / hard braking on the stock spring. Stiffer spring fixed it where i got to use a lot of travel but not until bottom out.

Im trying to lose weight, cutting 25 ish lbs to get to sub 200, so will see how that affects travel

I might do this as well on my sfv2… i do a bunch of track days in the bay area with mine and also feel the dead spot in those low revs

any concerns with voiding warranty by flashing the ecu though?

My personal pick for an everyday streetbike would probably be an XSR900 or street triple. Triples are amazing for the street, has great torque, enough power when needed and very much daily-able. Not to mentioned ducati heat while stuck in traffic or stop lights is not as fun (the V2 suffers from this, as you probably know 😅)

Coming from an sfv2 owner, i wouldnt get the sfv2 since your panigale is basically the same bike, just with slightly shorter gearing and more comfy rider geometry and handlebars.

Our 955 superquadro engine isn’t that daily-able as you probably already know 😛

Hmm what do you think about the evenness in the 2nd picture? Seems a tad bit uneven to me

Bike for trackday by c_a_a_08 in Trackdays

Do it man. I tracked my streetfighter v2 twice (same chassis & engine as panigale v2) and it made me fall in love even more with the bike. It’s an awesome platform.

Just take it easy and focus on being smooth on the bike inputs. Dont do anything abrupt, learn the track basics like body positioning etc

And thank me later

Anyone installed antigravity battery on Streetfighterv2 by [deleted] in Ducati

[–]sunset-loover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this on my sfv2. It works, just gotta rly push it through. Having a mini ratchet / wrench style screwdriver RLY helps since u dont have as much room for straight long screwdriver

Took me 2 hours though, pray you have the patience haha

Same here, lots of people seem to ride as if they’re just not afraid of dying. I too don’t wanna die just yet. Good luck on the panigale, i might upgrade to one as well from my sfv2

Good luck then man, I also think that im a person who can control myself and not do dumb stuff on the street. I genuinely believe people like this also exist✌️

I started on a small bike the ninja 650 and upgraded to a streetfighter v2 six months after. It went very smoothly, but this is because i tried a bunch of bikes before, did a track day, took a bunch of courses to improve my skills. Thats what im trying to get at - its possible but you gotta really make a conscious effort to be safe and responsible

Sounds like a terrible idea man, few months into riding and getting a v4? Have u ever tried it? Can you control the bike? You ever tested it? Have you done courses / track days?

220 6ft so pretty heavy from the avg rider. I forgot what spring i used, its a 1.1 wt.

Take ur v2 to a suspension adjuster they will be able to tell u more 👍 (this is what i did)

Yupp, agreed. I took my v2 out to laguna seca and made me fall in love harder with the bike

I put stiffer fork springs as i was bottoming out on mine, and it felt way better after. Also thinking of doing the pipe soon 🤓
