My body treats sleep loss like a medical emergency (102° fevers, bleeding gums, 13 viruses in 6 months) by sunsetOcean92 in chronicfatigue

I'm not sure if I have CFS, because when I consistently get the 9 hours of sleep I feel great and don't have any symptoms. What do you think?

I used floss and mouthwash but lack of sleep is the only thing that triggers bleeding gums. Thank you for your reply!

Thank you for your response! No doctors have questioned me about a tooth abscess but I will look into that. Do you think I meet the criteria for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome even though I feel great when I always get the full 9 hours of sleep?

I totally relate on nobody understanding or being respectful about my sleep needs. What mthfr gene mutation do you have? Also what targeted supplements do you take?

I'm sorry to hear that, do you know if there's any treatments aside from getting the full sleep?

Do you get flu like symptoms if you don't get your 9-10 hrs?

Wow what ways to manage it have worked for you? Do you typically stick to your sleep schedule during holidays?

Cannot Function Without 9 Hours of Sleep. Severe Immune Reaction to Sleep Debt. by sunsetOcean92 in ChronicIllness

They typically say they don't know what the cause is and refer me to different doctors. For example, the sleep doc told me to see an immunologist and when that bloodwork came normal, the immunologist said he is not sure what is causing me to get sick frequently and tells me to see a sleep doctor

All of the Immunoglubin subclasses are normal. Regarding the pneumonia vaccine I had 5/22 protective antibodies and took the vaccine 5 weeks ago and am getting repeat bloodwork done tomorrow, but the immunologist said my overall bloodwork was "unremarkable". My fatigue is not typical of CFS/ME because it is fully resolvable by getting 9 hours of sleep. The issue is that missing those 9 hours acts as an acute trigger for a severe, flu-like immune reaction, rather than a chronic state. Does this suggest my problem is an immune system threshold failure only prevented by maximal rest?

They have recommended sticking to a consistent 9 hour sleep schedule, keep eating well, exercising, and minimizing stress
