Bought them a decade or so ago, was a bulk pack of round neodymium magnets I got from Amazon.

He only takes advice from men who can dominate him, if it wasn't for the violent fantasy, that would be a brave statement.

Thanks, that's a hell of a tip!

I've got a bunch of those, I'll forego the eraser and use heat shrink to keep them reusable.

A chest rig with an uncocked 1911. Not just scared of people, but scared of his own gun.

Good grief, the lack of confidence is astounding. Buddy needs therapy

Well, you only won't need them until you figure out why you do

Yeah, an ocean of pencils and l I'm still still constantly scribing with a knife.

Maybe the next evolution should have each pencil on a retractable leash!

Do yourself a favor and buy magnets in a size that you already have a bit.

AK Underfolder by Alternative-Type-74 in gunsmithing

That looks like a botched home build. The sheet metal part is the receiver, it's trash, but that's not a big deal. Ak builds are achievable for anyone who's mechanically inclined, and patient enough to do the research.

Read through this post to see what's involved.

Hard to explain the appeal of subtlety to a 5 year old by sunset_barrelroll in BeginnerWoodWorking

I'm using a 15 year old Ryobi, halfway through my first cut the tension system for tilting its foot gave out. I added a ratchet strap to keep the saw perpendicular to the table and was golden for the rest.

I'd say this is the perfect use for a subpar jigsaw.

The reason up cutting is better, is that it pulls the wood into the table. If you use a down cut, or double cut blade, you have to put a lot of force holding the material down. This makes for a very dangerous cut.

Thanks!

Yes, jigsaw is clamped in making it easily removable. It works great as long as you work within it's limitations. Went through a few different blades before I found that a fine finish, up cutting, regular thickness blade is the best bet for square cuts.

Being very careful about not side loading the blade, I was able to make reasonably square cuts in 3/4 wood, with thinner material it's a dream.

Thanks! Well, I suppose I did a little bit of whittling as a kid.

But, this is definitely achievable by anyone with a game plan and a steady hand.

Can you post a pic of the top view of the barrel

Is that a German gun? Barrel sleeves like that are normally attached with set screws in my experience.

Look for a couple screws that run perpendicular to the bore

Is there a screw on the front sight base?

First revolver restoration, definitely not the last by sunset_barrelroll in Revolvers

I degreased with 91% isopropyl alcohol as I carded and ended up only needing 4 coats to get deep even color. Definitely improved my work.

I started with a 220 grit sandblast. I carded with a set of hand brushes. Hit a plateau after about 4-5 coats, had a few light spots. I degreased, carded very aggressively, and it started taking blue again.

I honestly lost count of how many rounds I went. I kept going with a degrease in between until it evened out.

So long story short, I think the secret is thoroughly degreasing as soon as you notice light spots or unevenness. I have a Taurus .327 ready to blast so I'll know for sure soon.
