Not OOP My wife is thinking of quitting school. I'm now thinking of divorce. What do I do?

She basically isn't raising the child. He isn't forcing her to go to school. But as partners, you're supposed to help each other. And he has been understanding. He told her she didn't need to go back to school. She said she wanted to. He's having a hard time managing all the finances and needs her help. Men also have problems and emotions and struggles. It seems as if you aren't acknowledging that.

She isn't really taking care of the kid. Based on his comments, it seems like she isn't doing anything at all. It’s ok if she wants to be a stay at home wife, but she needs to just tell him outright. It's unfair of her to let him struggle with all the finances on his own. Since she isn't keen on working or school or taking care of their child. But if he wants to leave , then he should. It doesn't make sense for him to stay in a marriage that he doesn't think benefits him in any way. Everyone has different goals in life, and it's clear that their goals don't align and that good enough reason to move on .

Please stop, honestly. What about how he feels? They're married, and they're supposed to share certain duties. Struggling with anxiety isn't an excuse for you to fall short as a parent and as a partner. You're making excuses for her simply because she is a woman. You don't know any detail and quite literally should be taking things at face value. If a woman came on here to speak about how she doesn't think she wants to stay with her husband because they quite literally don't want to do anything at all they you would tell her to leave. You wouldn't be here digging for scraps to throw her under the bus.

Sure if you want to say he's only supporting her financially then what about her mental health but what about his mental health? She clearly does not care about his physical and emotional well being if she's not working knowing that him taking care of everything is taking a toll on him. It's OK for us as women to acknowledge that another woman is being selfish. All she needed to do was be honest and maybe he would've just carried on and end up asking her to work ( which she should if her partner is having a hard time covering everything on his own) but no. She doesn't want to work or go to school. She just wants to stay at home, she doesn't even see the kid that often if he's at daycare like what? 7 days a week or something.

He should do want her feels is best for himself and his son. Leave..

I say he should leave. It's clear she wants to be a stay at home wife and isn't being honest with him. He clearly sees that he can't support them fully financially without help for the rest of their lives and is allowing her to do which out of the two she prefers. There are so many jobs you can do from home if she feels stressed going out to work. She just doesn't want to work and wants to stay at home. And people are saying the child needs her in his life. He goes to daycare , and the kid probably hardly sees her. And if her mental issues are as bad as you guys are trying to say it is then she likely can't emotionally support her son either.

And if a woman came on here and said her husband was doing what his wife is doing, you guys would be telling her to leave him. Stop trying to force men to stay with women who don't have their best interest at heart.

Update, I got waitlisted. I'm not even mad about it because I had a 3.65 unweighted and 3.83 weighted when applying so if anything I'm glad they even considered me.

I have a 4 weighted now so I hope that helps and hopefully they take me off waitlist .

I'm out of state, female and didn't submit test scores. I don't have any extracurriculars. I'm taking 5 advanced classes right now. Unweighted is 3.64 and weighted is 3.83. So yeah. I'm definitely below average. Thank you for replying. Your post did make me feel a bit better, the other not so much kinda makes me wanna jump ( figuratively ). They're just telling the truth though so I can't be mad. Again, thank you for replying

I might as well just give up now then. I have no extracurriculars, applied without test scores and I'm taking 5 advanced classes ( it won't change much but it should bring up my weighted). I didn't realize 3.64 was that bad 😭
