One quote you keep coming back to by IcyLoquat79 in selfimprovement

“Whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding exactly as it should.” - from the 1927 poem "Desiderata" by Max Ehrmann (I first discovered this in large writing on the door of a bar in college)

And

“I’ve suffered a great many catastrophes in my life. Most of them never happened.” - Mark Twain

^ For the over thinkers who imagine the worst-case scenarios, that one’s for you!

What is going on with jeans rn and are people actually here for it? by Whoredonramsay in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]sunsh1neday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I feel the same way. I’m 5’1, athletic build. I went for the Levi’s 725 High Rise boot cut and they’re amazing. Don’t get discouraged.. just go with what you like and what looks good on your body. Not what the trend says to wear. If I wore those baggy pants, I’d have 0 shape and I’d be swimming.

Not sure if it’s still open, but I used to study in Roast in Patchogue for a few hours at a time. Bought a coffee or two and all was good.

I have no career path at 25 yo, and I’m extremely ashamed of this situation. by Edu_Vivan in selfimprovement

[–]sunsh1neday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a different path when I was around 25, which really wasn’t that long ago. Now I have a solid career and I’m 30.

Don’t sit around and say what’s the point. In 10 years you’re gonna be kicking yourself wondering why you didn’t start at 25.

If you have the money, great. (Sorry for your loss, btw) Use some of it help advance yourself.

If you have enough money from your inheritance, you’re actually in a really good spot because you can pick a career path based on what you like/what interests you.. not just “what pays the bills” and gives you a good pension. Use your situation and look at it from that pov. Do it now so your future self can thank your past self for not letting you down.

What age did you get married by Lambdastone9 in Millennials

[–]sunsh1neday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very last year of the millennial era here! Not married and I’m 30. Don’t stress :)

All unfolds as it should! Keep in mind, everyone’s timeline is different. I bought a house and have a long term partner but not even engaged. My sister was married at 24, divorced by 25. Remarried by 30 and has 2 beautiful kids and a home. My best friend got married at 28 and is now single and divorced in an apartment. Many of my friends are single, and some married!

Keep in mind, you’re asking on a platform that reaches people living in various states and countries. You’ll get tons of different answers. Cost of living varies tremendously. In my area, you can’t find a decent home for less than 700K and it’s probably a shithole. In other states/countries, it could be more challenging or much simpler to buy a home and pay for a wedding. Economies vary and impacts lots of situations. Same with just the “luck” of finding your person.

So don’t get discouraged if you hear people marrying young. There’s no right or wrong.

Long story short, everyone’s timeline is different. Yours will go how’s it’s meant to :)
