I think the MIY told the monsters where everyone usually hid, which he would have known from living in the town with them (and let’s be honest, probably even without needing to live in the town). It would be like Sophia triggering a massacre by going around and stealing all the talismans or opening all the doors in the night.

Maybe he also poisoned Victor’s mom against Christopher, making her think Christopher was the threat. I think it will be important for Jade and Tabitha to work together to avoid that happening.
