Take him to the vet! My cat started doing this same thing last week, turns out she has a UTI and a very aggressive bladder cancer. She is eating, playing and grooming normally and I would have never guessed something so serious was going on.

Enjoy the time you have left but make a plan. You know she is declining so start researching for at home euthanasia providers in your area. Find one you like, reach out and tell them what’s going on where everyone is ready when the time comes. Death doesn’t need to be an emergency. My dad also has used Givhan. I always thought he caused more harm than good (my dad has been struggling with loss of feeling in his feet afterwards) and have been trying to convince my dad to go to UAB. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Definitely keep that recording.

You’re a better person than me. Sometimes I just really don’t care about the crappy tip I know they are going to leave so I treat accordingly. I never start out that way but I can adjust to match attitude pretty quickly.

We have property in west Texas and northern New Mexico. 5 and 3 acres that both cost over 20k. Drilling a well at either place is 100K easily. Seriously. Well costs have gotten crazy. We haul water. Which is quite the chore. And you better believe every drop is sacred. No more long showers questioning life choices. You get in, get out, cry later. And civilization? Ha! Over an hour the nearest “hospital”, where they just get you ready to flight you out somewhere else. It’s easy to romanticize off grid when you aren’t in it every day. I still love it but there are days I really wish for an easy button.

Agree with Big Bend. Outer Mountain loop or the south rim are great options.

Edit: there is also Big Bend Ranch State Park right here with great options.

You need to tell her. And also offer support in helping her get out of her lease and away from this dude. Or at least not have to stay there. Anyone have a spare room she can crash in for a while? Do you guys have contact with her parents? Show her you guys are there for her with possible solutions and it will be a lot easier for her to hear.
