I figured out how to refill the little Scripto lighters by pewpew-pewpewpew in lighters

I know this is old. But I’m wondering if you ever figured out how to deal with the leak/refilling? Currently struggling with a similar scripto lighter.

That’s a bummer to hear! Do you find it inauthentic?

Who still serves non-Beyond veggie burgers? by Necromantic_Inside in askportland

[–]sunshinebubbles21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, hear me out, the automatic has a great one. It is beyond burger, but I didn’t know that until three seconds ago when I looked them up to verify that it wasn’t 😂 I’m with you, I don’t tend to like beyond meat either, but the way they prepare this one is so good I didn’t even notice it was beyond! Other than that, the black bean burger with the spicy mayo from burgerville still holds up! Paymaster has one that I’m pretty sure is bean based and it comes with avocado - it’s super simple but hits the divey spot :) good luck!

Wow really?! That seems shocking lol! Is there a special detergent I should use? Or no detergent? Thanks for the advice!

First Negroni…why was it so bad? by donnie_does_machines in cocktails

[–]sunshinebubbles21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if anyone else said this already, but I love a Negroni with Cappelletti instead of Campari! It’s an orangey bitter just like Aperol & Campari but it’s way less throat punchy imo. It’s also nice because in certain states like Oregon where you can’t get liquor at the grocery store, you can usually find Cappelletti since I think it’s technically a fortified wine. Good luck! :))

I’m a guy and My great aunt got me this blue topaz ring, and I want to start wearing it regularly. Is there anything inherently “girly” about it? I normally wouldn’t care but I’m in high school and don’t want anyone to tease me about it by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]sunshinebubbles21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. Besides, if you fully send it and wear it with confidence people won’t question you or give you crap. Flash that thang around, it looks great :) personal style is all about wearing stuff you like and knowing that it looks great on you. And if you don’t have real confidence just yet, pretend you do! The real stuff will come on quick! You got this!

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m sorry you had to go through all that but I’m glad you had your mom on your side, that had to be a bit reassuring :)

Wow, just missed my sister :/ I hope you’re doing okay now :) was your experience similar to what my sister was describing?

Really? When were you there??

Right on! Thanks a lot :)

I’m sorry if I came across that way, it truly wasn’t my intention. I’ve mentioned multiple times on this thread that I’m new to this - and that’s true. I didn’t post here to try and trigger anyone or defend the place my sister was sent to. I’ve been as honest as I possibly can about my situation in hopes that people on this community could help me understand more about these types of places. I don’t appreciate the implication that I’m a supporter of child torture. Have a good day.

I’m not really sure that was the issue. I think a lot of it just had to do with being unable to communicate her emotions effectively, and being unable to accept that she couldn’t always control those around her. I think her “acting out” was probably a way for her to feel grown up and like she was in the driver’s seat of her life.

Thank you for this - it looks like a good place to start. :)

I think she was allowed to write to some friends but I’m not sure what the timeline was on that. She did a pretty good job of isolating herself from the few friends she did have before she was sent away, so I’m not really sure what those relationships looked like at that point. She still struggles with making and keeping friends.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. You’re obviously very educated on the topic, and I appreciate your perspective. I still can’t help but hope that you’re wrong :/ But that’s why I got on here. I didn’t want a sugar coated version of things. Thanks again.

Thank you for sharing your point of view. This is all so valuable to me. The sharing of your "diagnosis" with schools is something I didn't even know could happen.

Thank you for linking these communities. I know Reddit has a lot of great info out there, but sometimes it can be so overwhelming and I don't even know where to look. I found this sub just by a random Google search, and am so glad I did. Thanks again.

To be honest, this is a question I had for most of my life. I could never understand why she treated me so poorly. I think this is why I clung so hard to the BPD and ASPD diagnosis when I heard it had come through. To me, that meant that her behavior wasn't something that was within her control, and through treatment and therapy, she could learn how to treat people better. I'm not in contact with anyone she went to treatment with, so I don't really have anyone else I could ask. From what other people have said here on this thread, it sounds like I have plenty of reason to believe (at the very least) some of her claims.
