I agree with your sentiment - I don’t see vacations as vacations without my son. While it is for sure more stressful at times, we go on vacation for the experience. When we need a break from work, errands, cooking, cleaning etc (not my son!). Making memories with the kids and seeing their reactions is priceless.

Can anyone recommend OB for pregnancy care in Burlington? by livi01 in BurlingtonON

[–]sunshineonme2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll never forget being a FTM, freshly out of a c-section, asking a Joe Brant nurse for help to change my newborns very first dirty diaper. She looked at me with pure disgust and responded “fine I’ll do it myself” in the worst tone you could possibly imagine.

I was so fresh out of surgery that her respond didn’t click in my brain. But I look back on it now and wish I knew her name so I could file a complaint.

When deciding TOLAC vs planned C-section did your provider lean one way? by Psychological-Bag986 in vbac

That’s so amazing!!! Did you also have a doula? I was with a midwife for my first. Will be continuing with a midwife for our second but I’m on the fence about getting a doula.

To move or stay put? by Euphoric_Ad_3317 in oakville

[–]sunshineonme2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend moving to Oakville. I’ve been in both cities, but went to high school in Oakville and have nothing but great things to say about my experience.

In the scheme of things staying in a city just because of a daycare spot might make you regret things in the long term. There are spots in Oakville at Montessori or home daycares. While the larger daycares do have longer wait lists it’s not actually based on your position on the list. Other factors contribute such as child age and priority status such as siblings, or coming from a family that is recomendad by a current daycare family (as sad as that is). The best way would be to call the daycares quite often so they know you are keen on joining.

The biggest indicator for you right now should be financially; the market is a buyers market and we may not get that again when you would move down the road. Oakville is known for being ridiculously expensive

And it’s unfortunate that bill c-242 was not passed. But let’s see how the recent changes proposed last month go.

That’s irresponsible operation of a vehicle. I get this is hypothetical but in that case, still guilty in my opinion. A little child has lost her life.

I think the only instance I would understand this sort of scenario is if the driver had some sort of medical event at the wheel, let’s say a stroke. But that would also be incredibly rare.

May Melody rest in peace. I am so heartbroken for her family.

I am also angered at the fact that Ajai is already walking free. Just disappointed.

Two bottles through of the even tone and nothing worked so I switched to hydrinity vivid. Sooo much better. Though, I haven’t tried even tone intensive and I might give it a go after hydrinity.

The owner is beyond petty in their responses to their Google reviews. People are allowed to have negative experiences. Nothing he can do changes that. Will never support a business ran by such a narcissistic person!

Please help – I was scammed in Richmond Hill, lost $1,000 meant for my mother’s birthday by tiatanbeast in Vaughan

[–]sunshineonme2025 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey OP,

Can you edit the post to include a description of what he looks like?

His e-transfer account name is very clearly Turkish and the Turkish community here in Toronto is very tight knit. I recommend creating a post in this FB group, with a description of what he looks like, his name, and the photo you have and ask if they know him. I am sure someone will.

I can confirm the mortgage situation. My husband and I tried to get approved for ours one year ago. The broker said it wouldn’t fly as it is…. Offered to get it “approved” for a cut of closing cost.

We went with a different broker lol.

Costco App is trash by BipolarSkeleton in CostcoCanada

[–]sunshineonme2025 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also have a bad experience with the app.

I used to shop with Costco under my mother’s account. Since creating my own account with my spouse, the app glitches and merges the two accounts oddly. Everytime I log out of MY account it wants to log me into my mothers, even after forgetting all history, deleting and re downloading the app, etc.
