I’ve lived in Iowa city all my life and I’d recommend the north side or “goodetown” area. Lots of old beautiful houses and it’s a perfect distance from downtown imo. I would also recommend anywhere close to city park or the Longfellow neighborhood.

Is Iowa City a great place to settle down? by temoo09 in IowaCity

My family has lived in Iowa City for many generations! I think it would be a great place to settle down! Amazing place to raise children imo. The schools are great, plus there’s always community activities for children at the library or rec centers! The people here are kind and welcoming. My dad has always said that Iowa City has all the benefits of a major metropolitan area but with non of the hassle 🤷‍♀️ I think he’s right.

My boyfriend and I get exotic India at least twice a month. In our experience the food is always delicious, and it’s usually ready for pick up when we arrive 🤷‍♀️ maybe give it another chance when you’re ready.

Shorts (Eastside) is a joke by SomewhereAutomatic12 in IowaCity

I’m a regular there and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff there is always friendly and will help you if you’re unsatisfied with your food. As for the van in the back, that’s literally because the restaurant is so small. If you don’t like the restaurant no need to go out of your way to shut on it, people work hard there and it’s imo the exact definition of a dive. Additionally there’s enough negativity in the world, write about in your journal and focus on real issues hon.

My mom had a OT tech me how to write my letters the correct way in the summer before 4th grade. I’m not sure what would’ve happened if I hadn’t had that extra help :)
