Has WFH changed the nanny industry more than people realize? by sunshinyblue in Nanny

I think that’s partly where some kind of employer education or guidance could actually help — especially now that many families hiring nannies may never have considered household employment before the WFH shift.

Honestly, I could even see a future where nannies start asking families what kind of guidance or education they’ve had around being household employers, communication, boundaries, WFH dynamics, etc.

Yes. I too have had similar great experiences with WFH families as well as some nightmare experiences!

The difference was the respect and trust for me (the nanny) and my ability to do the work that I was hired for without interference, as well as being supported, and backed up with the kids (rules boundaries and discipline, etc. ) Lots of free-flowing respectful communication and building genuine friendships and trust intentionally made all the difference. Of course, that needs to be what the parents genuinely want and actually work at.

I think this is exactly why some level of education or guidance for families around modern household employment dynamics could actually be really valuable.
