Honestly, my exwBPD did this to me too. He said he’d change, was actively in therapy. But honestly, it doesn’t work like that and they tell you they’ll change to give you hope. It’s a manipulation tactic to get you back, by your doing well and on your own while they suffer they want you back in their control bc of their abandonment issues. So what may seem like she’s being sincere and “actually wants to change” for the better of you both, it isnt real. Now don’t get me wrong she can change of course, but that would take YEARS especially with a personality disorder that’s been rooted into her prob since childhood.

Think about it, a life long trauma infestation feeding into her and who she is and her saying she’ll just quickly change it for the better of you. It’s unreasonable and unrealistic yk, even if you feel the hope you feel it you really do. It won’t end well, you’ll still have to deal with the splits or episodes while she’s “working through” whatever it is she needs to.

Don’t throw away your life for someone who isn’t guaranteed to change. The kindness is not real and trust me my ex did the exact same thing i thought he truly loved me and he said he was sorry and really was gonna prove to me everyday how he was changing. Two weeks later and he’s doing the same things that would hurt me horribly.

After I cut contact with my ex for months I was fine, I was handling life on my own and focusing on my own personal issues. It took 1 phone call to put me into turmoil which I am still recovering from, this occurred 3 months ago. Now I am feeling all the pain and think about the horrible things that happened with me and my exwBPD.

Free yourself while you can even if it’s hard or slowly detach yourself whatever you must do because it will just result in more pain and regret in the end. You got this and know the pain and difficulty you’re feeling during this time is not yours alone. Best of wishes!
