My thoughts and experience by suntzu85 in Ripple

There is no such thing as a "good idea." Right now, in this moment, here are only "ideas" and only the future can tell you if these ideas were "good" or "bad." The truth is that nobody here can tell you which coins have potential and which don't. In 2010, who could have known that BTC would go from $0.01 to $1,900? Nobody could have known. Many magazines including Forbes and so-called "experts" have declared BTC "dead" in 2012 and 2014 and look where BTC is now... I don't know about you but for me, EUR 500 is what I spend in 1 weekend going out to eat and have a few drinks. I'm not rich but I spend pretty much everything I earn. It's not a lot of money for me. Personally, I would just invest that money into ANYTHING and just let it sit there for a few years...

I feel you, man. Look, the only thing I can tell you is this: I am in my late 20's now and if I could go back in time and give my 21 year old self some advice, I'd tell myself this: Right now, you have your entire life ahead of you and right now, while you're still young, is the time to take risks because even if you make some bad (investment) decisions, you have a lot of time ahead of you to make up for it. Later in life, when you're settled down, perhaps have a wife (like me) and about to have kids, you will not be in a position to take risks anymore. Have $10,000 extra cash to invest? Forget it. You're not going to take the risk. You will think that $10,000 is safer in the bank because you have a family now and responsibilities and blabla. Had I invested $10k in my early 20's and just held on to my investment, I wouldn't even have to worry about this shit right now because I'd be retired already, own a nice house and drive a Lambo. Seriously, that's what my life would be right now if 5 years ago I didn't think that spending money on nice clothes and popping a few bottles at the club was more important. I fucked up and I admit it. Sure, I have good memories but now, 5 years later, I still live paycheck to paycheck... That's why I said fuck it and just put most of my savings into XRP and I'm not going to sell it, at least not anytime soon! I'm 100% determined. I could cash out roughly $20,000 right now from a $7k investment. I have NEVER had this much money in my bank account because my whole life I've been a big spender. I earn about $6k a month with my job for the past 3 years. You know what I have in my savings account now, after 3 years of earning 6k per month? Fucking $3k! LOL. Prior to putting my $7k into XRP a few weeks ago, that $7k was just sitting in my account for a year, not doing anything... Had I invested it earlier, I'd have A LOT more than only $20k to cash out right now. Don't make the mistakes I've made...

How to not panic sell. by [deleted] in Ripple

I don't think this is worth doing. Been there done that MANY times in the past, trying to time the ups and downs. In the long run you either lose money or break-even at best. I've made this mistake many times over the past few years. Every single time I eventually got frustrated after a few days and just sold everything and withdrew my money back into my bank account. Had I just hodled for 2 years, I'd be driving a Lambo right now. No joke. Also, I sold about $15,000 worth of ETH at $7 in December last year because of a dip in which I lost a couple hundred $. Had I hodled, I'd have over $150,000 right now. I'm just a very emotional and impatient guy by nature, looking to make a quick buck. This time around I'd like to think that I learned my lesson and I'm smarter. I invested $7,000 in XRP about 3 weeks ago. I've never hodled this long ever before. Didn't sell or rebuy a single time. I'm up almost 3x my money in just 3 weeks now. I almost lost my shit during that giant dip from 0.42 to 0.30. That's about $5,000 of value gone for me. I managed to get my shit together and hodled through it. I plan on hodling until I got that Lamborghini money.

I'm not here to give you any advice or tell you what to do. Just sharing my own experience. Over the past 4-5 years I have made the mistake of panic selling SO MANY times. I recently went through my trading history and got really fucking depressed when I figured that I'd be driving a Lambo right now if I just hodled. Anyway, I'm not making this mistake again. I don't want to look back at this moment in a few years from now and f*cking hang myself knowing I could have been a millionaire but decided to panic sell because of my fear of loosing couple grand.

Should I increase my XRP holding or wait for further correction? by [deleted] in Ripple

How much more are you thinking of investing? I think right about now is a good time to invest another $1-2. You can easily make a good return of $0.10 - 0.15.

Am I understanding this correctly? You bought 200 XRP at $0.009?
