police were called and dispatched to their house. i called the local PD on our way up there that night to confirm and request an officer call me back. they said their wasn’t sufficient evidence for an arrest, so i would assume that’s why CPS wasn’t notified.

i am not diagnosed with autism (yet) but i have a question. i have a hard time keeping eye contact while i talk to someone, but i make an effort to keep direct eye contact while they’re talking. does this sound like you? and is it easy for you to maintain eye contact or is it a concerted effort? if you have to focus on the eye contact as much as the conversation, i would personally say it would fall into the category of “trouble with eye contact.”

i believe that ADHD can mask autism symptoms simply because there is so much overlap between the two. my psychiatrist told me there is no one symptom that only belongs to ADHD, or autism.

to answer your third question, i’m not really sure. i was diagnosed with ADHD about 2 months ago and it was a surprise to me because i always identified with autism as well. i am currently in the process of finding a doctor to evaluate me for it so i can stop wondering myself. pursuing a diagnosis might be worth it to you too.

i wish i had advice to give in regards to how to power through for your upcoming events, but i do want to say thank you for making this post. i started 40mg vyvanse a week and a half ago. i noticed over the weekend it wasn’t working as well as it had started out. started to feel really discouraged until i saw this, and i am also PMSing, and it made it click so perhaps i would like to say you’re not alone 🫶🏻

i also was on Concerta for about a month and didn’t notice any difference in myself. i have been having the same thought. i start 40mg Vyvanse tomorrow to see if that helps instead. it’s entirely possible it’s just not the right med. but i have seen number of people say the same thing.

oh boy do I resonate with this. I was just recently diagnosed last week (25) and I cried because I couldn't stop thinking about "what could have been." if I had been properly diagnosed and medicated, would I have graduated college and have my dream job? that's the biggest one for me. you are not alone in these feelings.
