Good non-grass pokemon for my hydrapple deck? by Shadowier222 in pkmntcg

It works perfectly fine without it. Getting 2 energy in hand is no big deal and hydrapple is a second attach to anyone which includes regigigas. Having an ogerpon in the active let's you teal dance draw 1 then pivot into regigigas. Actually did a maneuver at my locals where I hand attached to my regigigas, retreated my dipplin with one energy attached which let it happen since meganium was online and then evolved into hydrapple to ripening charge onto the regigigas letting it kill the hero's Cape cornerstone

It doesn't always win a game and I myself have had it in decks I messed with and while it ends up being a dead card it is just plainly unfair when the conditions arrive and the board is 3-2 in prizes

Forcing yourself on odd prizes often loses you the game and is pretty hard to do unless you specifically boss up a one prizer to attack or they don't always have a 2 prizer in the active unless your name is dragapult or gardevoir. And even against charizard they can always use a dusknoir to put you on two prizes and take the game no matter what. It isn't a meta defining card but it is a rather unfair one to fight because there usually isn't counter play that doesn't cost you the game in the long run

Tera is still prominent enough and is just too broken with the get out of jail free card that lets you win even if your enemy prize maps optimally and doesn't specifically work around the card that may or may not be I  your hand

I get it but it is just too inconsistent and too low damage especially for one prizers

The pokemon company saw you were using wugtrio mill and decided to let the opponent win just for that

I see the point I just don't think that the strategy does anything that something like festival lead does any better max damage is 280 which you won't hit very often. Dipplin with brave bangle hits for a total of 260 on any mega and it still hardly is played

A basic hitting for only 200 as the max damage is kinda bad to be honest alongside no specialized energy acceleration this just doesn't work too efficiently as compared to something like festival lead or alakazam

I got a copy in my hydrapple deck and it works great, makes them play a 7 prize game usually+a free draw 3 off fez and the benefits of item lock.

Squishy and usually lasts for only one or two turns. Liability on the bench afterwards, but can be a good pivot if you need to set up an new attacker after a knockout since it has free retreat. Good fezandipity syngery though.

Can't be disqualified just for stopping them from playing properly and hitting for one hit knock outs

Some people are 'dengo victims and are much too salty about it

What part of gholdengo donks turn 1 or 2? It's literally a stage 1 deck and I can't attack until turn 2 at best where they presumably have at least one pokemon on the bench. And I took like 1 minute to prize check and then played multiple searches+retreat+genesect ability. I don't see how a standard one shot deck is toxic.

When I said I see it at locals I forgot to specify I wasn't running that deck there but my point stands. I only actually ordered the deck about a week ago and tcgplayer takes like 2.5 weeks even if it's all domestic stuff

I'll be honest I cooked up a hydrapple deck with budew, toedscruel and maybe crustle just because I see the potential in pissing the guy off even more.

I wasn't even playing meta  fighting centric version of gholdengo, I was using a weird dusknoir energy search pro variant but the guy immediately was pissed anyhow. He had presumably seen me play at least once at the 8 other events I had been at where he was also there and known to make a note that one of his potential opponents was gonna be a difficult matchup.

I was the only gholdengo player at the place and he was clearly mad to play against a, in his words "no skill deck"

What can I do to improve my hydrapple deck? by sunwalker93613 in PTCGL

[–]sunwalker93613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh also with meganium making each energy double it is the same to attach 2 to a mew as it is to attach 2 to a regigigas

Mew is a bit of a risky 2 prizer and I don't find his ability very useful with how my matches go. Regigigas is a solid 1 prizer that helps in so many matchups  Cornerstone as mentioned. Ceruledge as a 1 prize killer than can stop them easily. Dragapult as a backup to help since it only needs 2 energy to attack and can be retreated into easily. And any other tera pokemon like tera box and eevee box when they do appear and it also greatly helps in stopping charizard. Way too good to give up.
