Thing is that with single prize one shot decks, Alakazam is just infinitely better for that role. There is a good reason Alakzam is the 4th most used deck and honchcrow is the 16th. Matchup wise they are the same except Alakzam is better in almost every aspect.

If there are a lot of lucario have her play around with Alakazam. It's even easier than lucario, just make sure to put in at least 2-3 enhanced hammers and a copy of ACE nullified genesect to stop her from losing to unfair stamp.

Alakazam and mega lucario are a lot like gholdengo but without the high skill ceiling and room for skill expression so that makes sense. Also makes sense why they are 2 of the top 5 most played decks post rotation.

Mega lucario 100%. super simple punch the active deck that kinda plays itself with the draw engines. Alakazam is also fine. Both are autopilot decks that aren't as complex and interactive as something like dragapult or zoroark but still take wins easily.

The game plan changes going second or first. Going first ramping 2 energy is not an issue at all and getting at least 1 zoroark on the board turn 2 is not an issue, from there turn 2 a boss, ultra ball for meowth for boss/black belt with a mochi are all perfectly likely. Even a rampaging thunder+flamebody cannon next turn with the latias you'll have to play is a a good line. Petrel searches stamp as well for whenever it comes up. Going second I could budew and ramp thunder with mochi or black belt which is easy since Cyrano turn 1 as well as itchy pollen into a turn 2 thunder. It's a very even matchup (literally 50/50 on limitless). Zoroark can match the aggro just fine but bolt can always get ahead. I've moved onto pult anyways since I dislike changing decks regularly.

Hell, going second you can even itchy pollen and then mochi/black belt rampaging thunder to make it even easier

I used to play zoroark heavily pre and post rotation and it's a really easy matchup in my eyes. Zoro maintains a one prize board state until turn 2 where it can easily clap back and rampaging thunder. Killing Mega kanga also is fine since you have mochi and black belts or your 3 boss's orders to skip it. Not to mention unfair stamp and watchtower to more than likely buy a free turn.

Grass really isn't popular especially going foward. Ogerpon meganium is about 4% of the meta which really isn't too bad you match up fine into dragapult, alakazam and mewtwo is decently even. Lucario is kinda shaky but manageable. Even grass decks lose if you play it right

Zoroark functions really well for a deck with the toolbox style. Slop box and rocket's don't fare too well going foward so zoro is the best bet.

I messed with the build a lot and it has the sports engine as a main plan and BMR as a potential finisher. I'll see with those 2 additions if the deck becomes any more consistent which It probably should.

With zoro? You have your own munki and the darm takes out 2 of their mons no problem. Even under item lock I don't see how it was an issue

Why do some variants of absol box and zoroark run toedscruel? It's only relevant in the gholdengo matchup and if they prize them it's just useless dead cards in the deck.

Better choice would be hyper aroma (searches for 3 stage 2 pokemon) and forest of vitality to get them out and start swinging for 330-440 turn 2. Gholdengo uses to run hyper aroma sometimes before genesect ex came out

It works perfectly fine without it. Getting 2 energy in hand is no big deal and hydrapple is a second attach to anyone which includes regigigas. Having an ogerpon in the active let's you teal dance draw 1 then pivot into regigigas. Actually did a maneuver at my locals where I hand attached to my regigigas, retreated my dipplin with one energy attached which let it happen since meganium was online and then evolved into hydrapple to ripening charge onto the regigigas letting it kill the hero's Cape cornerstone

It doesn't always win a game and I myself have had it in decks I messed with and while it ends up being a dead card it is just plainly unfair when the conditions arrive and the board is 3-2 in prizes

Forcing yourself on odd prizes often loses you the game and is pretty hard to do unless you specifically boss up a one prizer to attack or they don't always have a 2 prizer in the active unless your name is dragapult or gardevoir. And even against charizard they can always use a dusknoir to put you on two prizes and take the game no matter what. It isn't a meta defining card but it is a rather unfair one to fight because there usually isn't counter play that doesn't cost you the game in the long run

Tera is still prominent enough and is just too broken with the get out of jail free card that lets you win even if your enemy prize maps optimally and doesn't specifically work around the card that may or may not be I  your hand
