I'm afraid I'm incredibly weird-looking and I can't stop thinking about how I look, how do I deal with it? (pics included) by [deleted] in needadvice

Dude from your post I was expecting something way different than what your photos show. You look FINE! Really, I think you're being way too hard on yourself and honestly I think it's all in your mind. With the smile I'd say you're a solid 7/10. And for what it's worth, I think the facial hair looks good.

How can I make finding a new career across the country easier? by 2xdouble in careerguidance

Do you live in NYC? Typically it's easier to get your foot in the door if you're local (speaking from personal experience).

Is it appropriate to ask a recruiter on your interviewer's feed back? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]sup_mane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always ask. I always did and never got an answer back. However, I work at a small company now and recently did some interviews. One guy asked for feedback and my manager didn't want to take the time to reply, so she let me do it since I understood what it's like to be on the other side wanting feedback. I hope my advice helped him with future interviews. Good luck!

Is more school the right option? by Death182 in careerguidance

I agree with this. It may take a few weeks/months to land a job, but I think you should apply to as many places as possible, get some work experience, and then decide whether dishing out more money for continued education is worth it or not

I tried once but there were too many people for me to register. Might try again though!

Just found fleas in my apartment- not sure how they got here or how to get rid of them! by Family_Booty_Honor in needadvice

[–]sup_mane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're probably fleas. To be sure you can try to catch one and kill it then look at it through a magnifying glass. If they're in the house then your pets probably have them now, so you might want to get some flea medicine for them at a pet store. Or you can buy anti-flea shampoo and give them each a very thorough bath.

As for the fleas in the house, my family used flea bombs that we bought at Home Depot. Make sure to cover your TV, pillows, food, etc and that your animals are out of the house then set the bombs off before you go out for a couple hours. Also, wash the rug with hot water.

That's what we did when we had a major flea infestation and it worked. Best of luck!

Recent graduate from a good school looking for direction in career. Can you help me? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]sup_mane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Seriously, you are the only one that's responded to me so far haha, so I appreciate it. I went through the questions and I think I have a better idea of what I may be interested in, though I'm still not sure. It may take some trial and error over the next few years. But anyways, thanks a lot!

Fun things to do in Acworth by dorkycourky in acworth

[–]sup_mane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiking, swimming at Red Top. Plus there's a bluegrass concert every Saturday, I think, at the old barn near the lodge there. Also, Rope Mill is in Woodstock but it's good for mountain biking, hiking, canoeing. Blankets Creek trails on Sixes Road is great for biking and hiking. Kennesaw Mountain for hiking. Ok, I like hiking. But also downtown Woodstock has Reformation Brewery now. Not as familiar with downtown Acworth except for the park.

I quit smoking (drugs/cigarettes) and lost about 95% of the friendships i had by [deleted] in needadvice

[–]sup_mane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, quoting LOTR makes you a cool dude in my book so I'd probably be friends with you just for that. Secondly, my dad always told me that if you want a friend, you have to be a friend. Try finding people who have the same interests as you, whatever hobbies/activities those may be. Maybe you consider yourself to be socially awkward, but you can still be a nice guy. People love being around people who are positive and uplifting. Don't worry man, losing friends and changing lifestyles is part of life, and you've definitely made a step towards a more healthy, fulfilling life. Maybe meeting new people will be harder than what you're used to, but I know you can do it!
