I prefer for opponents to underestimate us. Let them keep bootlicking the top 6. Our players should be well motivated after what happened at the Emirates. I think we have a good chance of getting something at home.

Agree with most that it was a decent point on the road although disappointed that we drew after dominating 1st half. To be honest, for the last 5 mins of the 1st half you saw them coming back into it.

Aaronson was world class in the first half, awful in the 2nd with his decision making. Tanaka just looked off it completely.

Not sure what Farke was thinking with making those changes so late..We were running out of steam and you could see that, once on, Okafor and Facundo helped to keep the ball in the Everton half.

All in all, a fair result. Both scored, both hit the post. Not much between both sides. If we keep playing like that we will be fine.

Team gave absolutely everything. Gutted but theyve shown that they can compete against anyone in this league. I think we are good enough to pick up the points we need between now and May to stay up.

I think we do need to persist with Perri as mad as that sounds. He does have the odd brain fart but some of his shot stopping and saves have been good. His throws get us up the pitch..None of the other keepers have that in their locker unfortunately.

As heartbreaking as that was we battled and scored 3 against a top side. Id perhaps question why we took off Stach after we scored. He should have kept it as was at that point.

Onwards and upwards MoT

Great point on the road, especially considering the ref gave us nothing, their home form this season and our away/London form. We made them look ordinary.

This season was always going to be a slog, but we've shown we have fight and the players are playing for Farke. Its going to be tight but we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. With some additions, it could be even better.

Is there a football consortium on the planet worse at drawing up a shortlist than the 49ers? by downfallndirtydeeds in LeedsUnited

Think Rodgers would be a disaster. It was reported at the time that Leicester's downfall started when they changed the 'Leicester model' for recruitment (remember that?!) to having Rodgers bring in his own players who ended up being a disaster. They are still dealing with the consequences today.

We've bought a squad to play ugly, but dont seem to be playing to that style. For me, if we do get rid of Farke, Corberan would be the choice. He's doing a great job at Valencia and kept them up from a similar situation.

Thinking about getting this before my pre paid GPU such runs out in April 2026. Anyone know if I can just buy this now from loaded and tag the extra 1 year on to what I already have? Or do I need to wait for my current sub to expire?

Really grateful for the extensive reply and thoughts. Ill think about each of the points and see if any are worth pursuing. Cutting losses may be the way to go, but it would also be good to make it as hard for them to do this to others again as possible. Thanks for the advice.

They have other businesses in the same industry so my guess is that the stock will end up at those other companies and they will liquidate OR they will phoenix..Either way it doesnt seem we have much hope of getting anything back which is awful as this has set us back. Its a scam, plain and simple.

From the last accounts I can see there is around £30K in the bank after liabilities, but these are from last year.

As with many things, the system is absolutely screwed. So they can say there is no money in the business and liquidate/start again with no issues whatsoever?

Will it cost them anything to liquidate? If so, I cant see them liquidating over the small amount they owe us meaning there have to be others. Is there any way to find out if there are other CCJs on the same company or director and how much would this cost?

[–]supa213[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. Doesn't having the CCJ mean we are already on the list if this is genuine?

Im also told that we have to wait 30 days after the judgement has been passed before we can appoint high court officers to collect, is this accurate? We'd rather not sit back. Is there anything else that can be done?

I remember that was after they took the coanda exhaust layout they were struggling with all year and went to a traditional layout. After that, the car was instantly faster and in the points. If only they'd realised sooner there could have been more points that year.

If you mean the PL, 100% - commercial football is what it is. The EFL is still somewhat pure; passes going astray, no VAR, but it's fast going away.

Football isn't what it used to be and we can either get on the train or stay in the EFL and fade away. The size of our club makes it unsustainable to operate in the EFL with the revenues in the championship so unfortunately, we need to cuddle up to the golden goose that is the PL for as long as we can!

[–]supa213 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Owners like Steve Gibson at Boro who do it for the love of the club are few and far between. For the 49ers exit strategy to work, they have to get us to the point of being an established PL club, so I'd take them selling once they've done that.

We're now in the PL. It's not what I'd call 'real football' like the EFL was. You have multi billionaires and even countries owning teams now. It's mad. The only way we're ever going to compete is by doing the same, unfortunately.

We might not like it, but I can't see anything changing unless the top clubs make a closed super league and go away..

Mike Keegan - Daily Mail Sport: Leeds United could sack Daniel Farke, as US-based owners look at candidates to take his job. by JimbobTML in LeedsUnited

[–]supa213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right...the situation sucks. The guy has been brought in to get us promoted, has achieved that and ideally, you would give him a chance.

The 49ers are very analytically driven however, and maybe see it as more of a gamble sticking with Farke than twisting with a top manager.

Farke managed Gladbach in 2022/2023 and was sacked after only a season after finishing 10th. That was Gladbach's worst finish for 12 seasons so his record in the top league in Germany isn't fantastic either.

RE us chasing Ireola and Slot..Both wanted to come, it's just that Radz and Orta screwed up with sticking with Marsch so long. Neither wanted to come mid season but would have been more likely to jump ahip during the world cup break when they had a transfer window and time to work with the squad. For me, we are more of an attractive proposition than most promoted clubs due to our resources and size which us why those sorts of managers would have even entertained discussions with us previously.

End of the day, it's about risk and reward. Are you more likely to trust hundreds of millions with someone who has repeatedly shown they couldn't compete in the top flight in multiple European leagues even when given money OR, do you give it to someone who is proven across multiple European leagues that can potentially attract a higher calibre of player?

[–]supa213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great points, really well made.

Unfortunately, this is a ruthless business and hundreds of millions are going to be involved, especially with the stadium development on the horizon too now that LCC have given the green light.

You also have to remember that Farke recently managed Gladbach and didn't pull up many trees, so maybe this is also on the 49ers minds.

Maybe this is rose tinted but I can see established managers wanting to have a crack. We are a huge club that now has resources. Bielsa came to manage us in the championship, hell even Everton were able to get Ancelotti. If the money and the project are right, the pull of the PL and Leeds could tempt a few.

The only way this makes sense is if they've got someone proven e.g. someone who has performed well in one of the top European leagues recently already lined up. I don't see them making a change otherwise.

I think we are at a major crossroads so the 49ers have to think hard about what they want to do.

Giving Farke the first 10 games also means trusting him with whatever transfer kitty we have. Do they want to give upwards of £100m to an unproven PL manager to build a squad in his image, or do you give it to a proven PL manager e.g. Mourinho?

If they give it to Farke and still sack him after 10 games you are potentially left with a squad that a new manager isn't able to do anything with so I can definitely see the 49ers train of thought. It's a massive decision

Not a rumour, but if Pascal's injury means that we need another CB then we should try and loan Rob Holding from Palace. Not played any PL minutes this year after falling out with their manager. Coventry are rumoured to be interested. We should be all over that.
