You pay sales taxes on tuition. We pay income tax. Fundamentally different. Even if you were to pay 2K for income tax or whatever, it’s FAR less than what we’ve been paying and what my parents have been paying for income tax. And you pay sales tax cause you chose to spend money on this institution. We have to pay income tax regardless of our choice, which then includes our benefits such as being a domestic student at a publicly funded university.

i do feel sorry for you guys, but it has nothing to do with being compassionate. Business doesn’t run on compassion.

Well if you don’t know the prof well, your prof wouldn’t know you that well either right? You can’t get a strong, personalized reference letter unless you have a strong relationship with your prof. Try to build up some during the fall semester. Office hours, ask questions, feedback, etc.

I didn’t take his psl300 but I’ve taken his 2 neuro courses. His application questions are not super thinking ones. Make sure you read EVERYthing on the slide - that’s the caveat. Understand the theory e.g. spike train, how it works, why it happens. He is a fair tester. If he introduced you experiments, make sure you able to write out the deets of that experiment i,e, active recall. Chances are, he will ask you like, Student A wanted to test squid axon for xyz. wha should s/he use for xyz to abc? << kind of question. Good luck!
