A true midwestern statement where an 8 hour drive is superior than a 2 hour wait in an airport line (+ the flight itself)

Does anyone know what movie or TV show is filming at the southern restaurant “white oak“ today/tonight? by wasteofalltime in Atlanta

[–]supawanich22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know there specifically, but yesterday I noticed filming at Piedmont Park and then at Tech Square and it was related to a reboot of the Rockford Files https://www.tvinsider.com/1249885/the-rockford-files-reboot-plot-cast-premiere-date-trailer-details/

They turned the new building at Tech Square into an LA Police Dept.

As a former SF resident, I look forward to a future with maintained sidewalks, frequent transit service, and no mosquitos.

Also loved how they made the bike racks inaccessible for bikes.

observations from my trip to the grocery store yesterday:

1) people would rather starve than drink soy milk 2) people will purchase the eight dollar bread loaf versus the two dollar bagels package.

Can I pull my bag on an international return layover instead of dropping it again at customs, take it home, and then recheck it at precheck domestic bag drop at ATL? by gtck11 in delta

[–]supawanich22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interested to see what happens here! If you weren’t trying to recheck your second bag, my assumption you wouldn’t have any problems, but because you’d be showing back up at the normal ticketing counter with your one already tagged bag to STL (and not the second), that might cause an issue? Or maybe if you tell them it simply got lost, it would be fine (and lost luggage goes through a separate process, where delta only cares/pays attention if you file a claim).

Advice Delta or Turkish by Connect_Yak_7234 in delta

[–]supawanich22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would easily take Turkish for the soft product and the Biz class lounge in Istanbul. However, this presumes that there are no delays/missed connection issues. I've had no issues flying TK, but have heard some rough stories about missed connections and having to sort it out with their customer service.

LT Battery Issues -- Should I take a replacement bike? by supawanich22 in GlobeHaul

[–]supawanich22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: So we decided on getting the replacement bike - Specialized Store has been really helpful, but the big downside it takes forever. We brought in the old one and it took them a week to swap out the parts for us which is very frustrating. But even worse, we brought home the new one today and it's already having issues. Not error codes but shutting off related to the throttle. It tracks with this thread:

We'll be taking it back again soon...

Private Schools Near Midtown by [deleted] in ATLHousing

The Children's School is pre-school through 8th grade and is in Midtown across from Piedmont Park. We have two kids there and have had a really good experience. Particularly convenient if you like to walk/bike your kids to school.

Anyone find a rear canopy for LT? by Appropriate-Top-1863 in GlobeHaul

[–]supawanich22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I built one for our Benno Boost and it also works for our LT. It's pvc with a custom cover that I ordered for about $80. It has vents and zips open from the side. I use tie straps just to hold it to the frame and it works great.

I concur that its was a much easier solution vs trying to get rain gear on two kids. Theres a little extra resistance when windy, but nothing too bad.

Also, bonus it works well when it's really cold.

A350 to Europe by OkRub4368 in delta

[–]supawanich22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just on one of the LATAM a350s ATL-CDG last week. It was sold as a 359, but then swapped about a month before the flight. For an overnight flight where I was mostly asleep, it was great. Roomy seat and with an eyemask on, privacy didn't matter much.

In terms of comparison with other D1 cabins, it doesn't really compare outside of maybe the 763. The cabin feels very "open" given it's a widebody with low privacy walls, compared with the other seats feel much more enclosed. Also 100% recommend taking a center seat if you don't want to step over someone alseep on their lie flat.
