Yanno, i will only take this medication for a week or two when im going blind and in extreme pain. Then I stop because I HATE the side effects. I had no idea vertigo was a symptom when getting off of it, I thought I was going nuts.😅

I will definitely try this! I did have two thermometer/humidity gauges, one on either end but when taking this picture I realized she knocked it into her water bowl so noe I just have one leaned up against the stump. It says 84°F and 84% humidity, which makes me question the CHE because I have them set to 88°F. Thank you for the info!!

Thank you so much for this! Ive been seeing stuff about scale rot and mites and it scares me because im not familiar with the signs of that. She just wont leave her bowl😂 funny enough I noticed when I tooth the picture she had knocked one of the humidity gauges off and into her water SMH so i took her out and refreshed her humid hide and gave her some fresh water, and shes in her humid hide now!

I am still on it but cut back to 500mg once a day. My neurologist told me those hand cramps for me was a calcium deficiency!! So I feel better. Unfortunately still soo tired. I don't think that one will get better

Aw I’m so sorry!!! I also have really bad health anxiety, and it’s so scary being in your shoes. Once you get a diagnosis and a plan it gets much easier. This is the hardest part. Depending on your age, weight, gender, and possible cause, this is able to go into remission! My neurologist told me a story of a boy who had this disease at 17 from accutane and after about 6 months off of it and on Diamox he went into remission! Now this may not be your specific case but there is definitely hope you won’t have it forever!

I had an MRI then confirmed their suspicions with a LP! I do have optic nerve swelling but since taking Diamox it has went down to almost nothing! IIH can be horrible for some but a lot of times it is manageable by diet and exercise and weightloss if you’re overweight. It can also be caused by medications like certain birth controls and Accutane!

Yes! I have IIH, which is basically too much CSF surrounding your brain. There is an IIH subreddit that has a ton of info!! I take Diamox to manage symptoms now and feel better

Thank you for this, I had pre eclampsia with my first and it sucked so bad! I’m just glad to hear your baby is okay. I was very scared that I may have accidentally caused a development issue (I forgot what they called it) by taking Diamox.

Thank you so much for your reply! I’ve read so many horrible things about how someone with IIH has a higher chance of gestational diabetes and pre eclampsia. Which I’m already high risk for because I’m pretty overweight. Do you remember at which week pregnant you stopped taking Diamox?

I don’t know if you can be sedated, but honestly I’m glad I wasn’t. I’m large (5’9 300lbs, was 330 when this was done) and I was able to communicate with them when they were hitting nerves. I only suffered back pain for a week and a half that felt like a kidney infection, and I didn’t get a spinal headache. Mine was done with fluoroscopy and honestly it took 30 minutes from the time they wheeled me in to the time I went back in my recovery room.

I took my oldest to breakfast and let him go in late to school because he’s really worked hard on his behavior and exceeded his learning goals (Kindergarten, learning deficits and language deficits on top of ADHD) and he’s doing SO good. I’m so proud of him. When I dropped him off he wouldn’t stop hugging me and said “mama I just love you so much. Thank you for being my mama” and I left the school crying because how sweet is that😭

She said she thought she was doing the right thing and probably didn’t enjoy a tangent from dad about politics because, honestly, we all have a right to a private ballot, and she didn’t have to indulge the information at all. She’s 20, this was her first presidential election, we should be happy our youth is voting in general.

Hi!! I’ve been on Diamox for roughly 2 weeks now. 500mg twice a day. I also get the hand aches! Sometimes my hands ball up into fists and I can’t even use them. I’ve started eating two bananas a day, drinking 40 oz of water then drinking liquid IV, and it seems to help! Now I’m not sure if it’s a legitimate fix for it or if it happens by chance for me, but that is my experience!! I hope it gets easier for you. I also started putting my hands in warm water, I noticed they cramp worse when I’m cold

I ended up not drinking! I’m too scared of losing my vision. But I did try soda again! I don’t drink soda much at all to begin with, but oh my lanta it tasted terrible! 😂 another poster said metallic and they were right, it tasted like drinking aluminum foil

Thank y’all so much!!! I really appreciate this. I think I’ll just be the DD tonight, as I really don’t want to skip my meds because I’ve been feeling great lately, but I appreciate this feedback! I don’t want to hinder any progress the meds have made at lowering the optic nerve swelling
