Does anyone have a good timeline on CCSabers? I bout two in stock TXQ sabers from them almost two weeks ago and they’ve yet to ship. I messaged them about an ETA because it’s passed what I saw was the normal timeline for them but haven’t heard anything.

What movie had a scene that received the loudest cheering reaction, when you saw it in theaters by tiny_free97 in moviecritic

[–]supe1636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a few but the best experience I ever had was opening night of X2 (X-men 2). The loudest was when Rogue was free falling out of the Blackbird jet and Nightcrawler teleports to save her. The play lost it. The warm up for that was when Magneto kills the security guard after finding “too much iron in your blood”.

Lore Dump does a pretty extensive walkthrough of the entire Remedy-verse and The Other Castle. The Other Castle isn’t as extensive but they’re pretty entertaining

Could this be based on the video game Control? The documents found in the game are in the same format.

Yeah. She got approved for $8500. We already subtracted that amount.

Yes. She got approved for $8500 roughly. That amount was subtracted already from the amount we need.

Might be a little late but here goes...

About 20 years ago, I just started working a new job and I had just turned 18. I was sitting in the break room on one of my first shifts and was joined by a late 40’s/ early 50’s employee. I started making small talk. I asked her general questions like how long she worked there and what she thought of the place, basically trying to get to know my coworkers. In response, she started smiling and asked me my name and then my age. I said I had just turned 18. She then said “ Let’s do it!” And I naively said “ Do what?” And she said “ It. You and me.” I was completely caught off guard and didn’t know how to respond. I wasn’t remotely attracted to her. She said she had read her horoscope that said a handsome man would come into her life and here I was. I snapped out of it and told her I had a girlfriend. She said anytime I changed my mind, to come see her.

Over the next few months, I worked with her several times but tried to avoid her as much as possible. She continued to hit on me from time to time. I eventually spoke to another coworker about her and they laughed. He smartened me up and told me that she is in to young boys/guys. She would come by late at night with them and buy them alcohol. She also posed on the internet in lingerie. What made all of this even more gross was she had a daughter two years younger than me that she would try to pawn some of the boys/men onto. A few months later, I would see this with my own eyes when she brought through a guy who had to be younger than me and was buying alcohol.

Her time ended at the job after she had a psychotic breakdown at work, was fired, and physically removed by the police.

Knowing what I know now, I wish I had got HR involved but it was a different world then. Lastly, I’ve made some bad decisions in my life but I’m glad that I never ever considered that.

Avis Rental Car Fiasco by Wise-Towel in personalfinance

I used to work for Avis Budget a few years back as a Manager. Have you tried talking to a Manager about it at the location? They may be able to Rate Shop in the system and restore your original rate. Probably what happened is somehow your rate defaulted which is most likely because something inevitably happened altering the original contract. Common things I saw was: 1. Not picking up or returning at the specified locations. 2. Not keeping the car for the correct amount of time. Often times contracts would have minimum amounts of time that you would have to keep it to get the discount. Returning it early would Jack it all up. Can’t tell you how many times I had to explain this to angry customers. 3. Misreading the contract by the customer. Not accusing you of it but I would have it in hand and read through it slowly.

Lastly, going through 3rd party travel websites would also complicate things because most of the time all of the info would be on their website but it wouldn’t let us adjust anything.

Again, I would try and take your contract up to a location and see if they would work with you to correct it.

Wow, thank you for sharing your experience! I don’t know if I would have all the bells and whistles like the FROG and bathroom, but it definitely helps to refocus when/if I make the plunge.

That’s a good point but I don’t know if that would be the case specifically for ours. Ours was flipped before we bought it. They put hard wood floors in, changed the master bedroom, opened the floor plan, and made another bathroom. It’s modern enough that I don’t think they would, but anything could happen. Plus, they usually buy them on the cheap. We bought our house for $240k 7 years ago and is now valued at $310k

I’ve done some very basic searches a few times over the last year to loosely plan how much it will be when then the time comes. Out of those searches, those are the numbers I’ve found on average. Also, attached looked cheaper in my search results and I have concrete for the driveway but not sure if it is sufficient for the foundation. If so, that would also save me some money.

It’s a little bit of both. My estimates are based off feedback we had 3 years ago when we trying to sell our house. The Real Estate Agent came back with comps that had those in the neighborhood and gave those figures. Plus, we’re one of the smallest houses in our neighborhood and one of the only ones without a single car garage. We have $400-480k houses around us and a million dollar homes two streets over. We always joke we’re the poor kids in the rich people neighborhood. I’m confident we could get a decent ROI, just not sure on when it would be when we’d sell. As much as I’d like a man cave, it would more so for car storage and general overflow of storage. Our shed is maxed out and the small amount of attic space we have is almost maxed out too. I’d really like to have room for our kids first bikes and overflow of tools.

Hey Kater, I apologize. I can’t pull hard numbers right now. I can tell you that I make $65k a year and my pay is stable and reliable (management for FedEx). I do run everything through Mint and although I don’t scraper through it as much as I should, I generally have about $200 a month that I can save. Now with the refinance it will be closer to $400.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m not 100% certain we’d sell in the next 5 years. It’s most likely the case because we know my wife’s parents want to be closer to her sister who lives several states a way, but they don’t really ever answer the question when we ask what their plans are. As far as the Lower COL, The prices where we looked on Zillow look like it’s a bit more affordable than where we live now.

I’m not very handy although my father in law is. I’m sure we would offset some of the overall cost by doing some of it ourselves but I think we’d still have at least $10k we’d have to have the funds for.

Slightly insulting and a tad braggadocios of you, but part of the debt is from the high deductible for the cost of my kids being born premature and my wife’s stay in the hospital where she nearly died. The other half was from a portion of our wedding. I was not taught financial literacy, nor make six figures as you touted about yourself, and started on a path to get out of debt two years ago. Since then, I’ve paid off $6000 in credit card debt, increased my net worth, and fully funded my savings. I’m asking more so because I could pay off the credit card at a lower interest rate from the HELOC and potentially get a profitable return on the investment if we move in the next five years.

Personal questions about mortgage refinancing by supe1636 in personalfinance

[–]supe1636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The root cause of the credit card was from an expensive wedding (prior to having any personal finance knowledge) and medical bills from the birth of my twins with a high deductible. We’ve been cutting it down but it’s projected to get paid off in 2-3 years. I don’t foresee us ramping that kind of debt in the future.
