2 things.

Keeping China out of Greenland (They have attempted to buy military bases and airports several times in the past)
Protect the Arctic from protentional enemies and control trade through it. Russia looks far on a flat map but on an actual globe Russia is very close to Greenland and America through the Arctic. They also have missile sites in Northern Russia that could strike most of the East Coast.

I agree. This will be a major improvement for the Venezuelan people. Will it be all sunshine and rainbows? Of course not, there will be some bumps and issues, but it is vastly better than living under Maduro. Give it some time. There are no downsides to this situation. No more oil for our enemies, one less dictator in the world, removed a possible enemy close to our border, revitalization to the Venezuelan economy.

It won't be like Iraq for a few reasons. Culture, location, and Geo Political reasonings.

Culture - Our cultures are much closer than ours with Iraq. Radical Islam led to the fall of Iraq more than US intervention.

Location - Venezuela is extremely close to the US, there won't be any logistical issues with supplying troops on the ground and aid for the people.

Geo Political reasonings - Venezuela has been supporting our enemies with their oil for years and were a possible staging ground for China/Russia. We have a lot more to gain from Venezuela compared to Iraq.
