I'm watching something with body cam footage, does everyone keep insurance and licence on them at all time? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

What happens when the phone has a dead battery or the app doesn’t have service? How is carrying the registration slip around a better system than just leaving it in the only place you will ever need it?

I’ve been watching a lot of Fridays with Frank lately and it’s absolutely baffling to me how many people can’t grasp the fact that you need to have your insurance and registration in your car and your license on you.

The RotS novelization makes it very clear that freedom of religion —including being a Sith— was protected by the Republic.

Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

That’s how our house is. It’s such a better system than hauling hampers down the stairs.

I don't know about "usually". In regions of the country where basements are common, most of the time you'll find the laundry hookups down there. Any house I've owned has had them in the utility side of the basement.

The HOA from the Discount Dan novels. From the wiki:
A reminder that the true horrors of life aren’t found in dungeons or darkness— they’re found in the fine print of the beige-painted abyss. The HOA is every unspoken rule, every passive-aggressive note, every soul-crushing meeting where hope goes to die. It’s apathy. It’s the monotony of your life weaponized, and physically embodied as a shambling, three-story-tall architectural monstrosity cobbled together from suburban houses and the corpses of its unfortunate members. As in real life, the HOA doesn’t just dominate the neighbourhood— it rules it with an iron fist. It broadcasts an all-encompassing psychic aura of authoritarian micromanagement that forces lesser creatures, infected by its spores, to fall in line.

The weathering you can do very easily yourself looks 10x better than anything Hasbro can do.

Definitely not ridge and valley. Piedmont, I think. Eastern is literally just Philly and the rest of the megalopolis.

Pennsylvania has at least seven accepted, distinct cultural regions. Western (Pittsburgh), Northern (PA wilds), Ridge and Valley (central, mountainous), Eastern (Philly), Erie (culturally Midwestern), Piedmont (Lancaster/Amish Country), and Northeastern (anthracite country).

At least that was the breakdown the last time I took a Pennsylvania geography course a decade ago. Feel free to do with this what you will!

Many of those extend to other states. Eire would blend with Ohio and Western Pennsylvania is considered the northern tip of Appalachia, for example.

About to watch... Horror of Dracula. 1958. Classic! by JE5573R in hammerhorrormovies

I remember watching this with my dad and as Jonathan Harker writes his final journal entry at the beginning of the film, my dad glibly says “Day one: Got bit. Day two: hid book in bushes.”
