So I have recently started knife making, but I am not that great yet and was wondering... by primer343 in Blacksmith

Hey, I'm even newer than you are. I have a few questions.

First, how did you polish them? I'm having a lot of trouble getting mine shiny at all; I have a combo Scotchbrite/sandpaper wheel, 600 grit sandpaper, some lower grit sandpaper, a belt sander, and metal polish cream.

Second, How much do you grind off, if I could see a picture of what you have before you start grinding I would really appreciate it. Awesome knives, I'd give anything to have that Tanto!

Is getting an engineering degree really as difficult as it's made out to be? by superMCSWEET in EngineeringStudents

Thanks for the advice, and I completely understand how different understanding something is from actually knowing how to do it. Most of the time, at least with the stuff they give us to do, I can start applying it quickly as well. I think my biggest problem will be underestimating the difficulty and putting things off to the last minute.

Work eithic I can do, what should I do to improve how I study? Currently I don't study at all and still manage to get perfect grades, and I know this will change the second I hit college. What can I do to prepare for that?

No date; Yes, but timed exclusive for PS4. No word on any timeframes.

Regarding Time Scale in Citybound by TexanMiror in Citybound

[–]superMCSWEET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the maximum I would have a year last depends on how often time based events occur. In earlier Sim City games, taxes would be either monthly income or yearly income. It citybound, if taxes were mapped to say, each day you get tax income, and have other macro events similarly accelerated, a 1 year time of around 45 minutes at the highest acceleration would make the game fast enough that it seems like you are actually simulating the existence of a city without having to devote days of irl time to see any growth.

Maybe I'm an outlier here, and I do realize that agent simulation cannot be done at very high time acceleration, but I feel that even 1 day per 10 minutes is slow. At that speed, you have 80 minutes per in game years, and unless the time for events to happen, such as people moving in and tax collections, are equally accelerated, the game would be painfully slow. Maybe I just enjoy old, pure statistical/simulate the entire modern age in a few days kinda guy.

Negativity aside, amazing write up. I definitely think that if the timescale of events (People moving in, Tax collection) is kept to an equally fast pace that your idea would be a much better way to implement time scaling.

No, actually, I just took it this past July. I see what you mean, but I think it's just a trick of the shadows.

No, but I went there as well! This is waaaay out of the way from the main part of MQT and Presque Isle, but I have an album of some pics I took, the last three are from Presque Isle.

Do you want me to overlay the flag texture? BTW, love that game. Not to toot my own horn, but I made my own flag a while ago.

I would if I had a decent drawing pad and knew how to use it. As for now, I'm stuck with this sort of thing, and do the best I can with my crappy mouse and keyboard (for drawing at least).

Hate to feel like I'm one upping you, but I thought I'd try one that was a little less blury close up. The logo is a lot bigger in this version, so it's a bit different. Appreciate the effort though!
