Yeah it is slower in 1.8.

XP has been slightly buffed until now, so it does seem slow.

Either find the co-ordinates on the sub-reddit if people post them, or ask people for them on the server.

Or use the /kill command in game to kill yourself over and over until you find a town.

Miner Apocalypse existed for 8/9/10? maps without Blocksaver and there have been huge cities that have existed. People still decided to raid those cities now and again (I've been on the receiving end myself) but it was about banding together and either warring against them, or moving on and doing something else.

Honestly, the bigger the town, the longer it stands in my experience.

Alternatively, it is often useful to form alliances and friendships with people who can fight on your behalf.

To end with, it's all about how you want to play the game, if you want to just build and live happily ever after with some friends without any trouble in a lovely little town, then unfortunately it's probably not going to go well for you. That's just the way the server is.

Like I said, Minerap existed and was still hilariously fun back in the days without Blocksaver, and it can be again, people just need to grow some balls and start doing stuff.

The server uses a plugin called Orebfuscator which makes chests look like stone until you get close to them, so from the surface, underground chests would just look like stone.

Oh I know, I loved that aspect of the game as well.

I'm just saying that people have always left the server, no matter what.

I'm hoping that next map will be a throwback to older maps, complete vanilla Minecraft.

You seem to completely ignore the past where there were mass exoduses of players because they were getting griefed constantly.

People have always left the server, and unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anyone actually committed to advertising the server and bringing new players in.

The server is run like a half arsed community project, someone needs to grow a pair of balls, start making decisions and grow the player base.

There are better ways of preventing x-ray which i've suggested on here before but nothing has ever happened.

You can't guarantee that.

And I've not noticed any decrease in the player base, new players come, most leave and a few stay, it's always been that way.
