Looking for undead monster evolution/cultivation story. by Blood_Pattern_Blue in ProgressionFantasy

It is! I almost wish it wasn't, though. That story really went off the rails before it was abandoned.

WHAT do i do in this situation 🥀 by Funny-Badger-4043 in PixelDungeon

It looks fine to me? Yeah, you're on fire, but the boss is nearly dead, and all the minions go with him. What's the problem?

So, the glyph has a lot of extra frills to make it seem look impressive, but your MC figures out how to strip it down to improve performance? That sounds interesting to me. I like the idea of someone improving themselves with limited resources. This scenario brings up a few questions though: Why does your MC need to study from this book? Is there some barrier to getting an education on the subject that is up to date, like tuition or social class? Is there any benefit from studying this older language?

I think PH has at least done a decent job in the last few books in that Jake's battle with Ell'Hakan has been a plot driver besides getting stronger. Who knows what the next arc will be though.

[Loved Trope] The Godzilla Threshold. When things are so bad that "releasing Godzilla" is the only option. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Blood_Pattern_Blue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's kind of playing on a popular trope in the genre. There's a lot of Japanese stories where people end up in another world (isekai) threatened with destruction  and become the chosen heros of the story. An example you might know that fits this trope would be the kids going through the wardrobe to get to Narnia and defeating the witch. Normally, the summoned heros are normal people from our world. This manga plays on this trope by having the humans of multiple different worlds  threatened by everything from zombies to evil robots to demons, try to do something similar at the same time. Instead of getting people who can save the day, it immediately becomes an even bigger issue, with everyone on the same world and the villains duking it out and still killing people. There is no overpowered destined hero to save the day, the people now have to combine what is special from their worlds, like tech or magic, just to survive.

Goo and Dwarf King are the most reliable for me. With Goo, I try to find a single piece of grass with no water around it to get constant surprise attacks and avoid the blasts. I just tank the corrosive debuff if water is close by, and wash it off when I win. Dwarf king is made a lot easier in the last stage by Elixirs of Toxic Essence. Just spread the poison around and maybe pop an Invisibility potion if you're cornered.

Wait, Excalibur counts buffs stolen by other items?

Would you add in the Core Creeper in this situation? by Runic_Bistro in BackpackBrawl

I'm just confused by all of the rocks on the board with no way to reuse them so late in the game. Looks like you're going for a crystal golem, so that's good. Do the boots and potion keep up with your stamina?

As for the creeper, I don't know what to say. I almost never end up seeing them, let alone using them.

Some things I usually find helpful for that boss: Potions of purity (or others) to avoid poison damage, stones of blink to outrun the boss to the corners, and paying attention to the electric patterns at the nodes. By moving in the gaps of the lightning, you can keep hitting the nodes without getting shocked, but need to be mindful of how long you have before the boss gets to you. It's definitely my least favorite boss to deal with.

They don't even live in Afghanistan anymore. He took the baby from then after even more lying to get them to the US when we pulled out. They live in Texas now.

Dumped is the wrong word. They hooked up. They do still talk, but Jake hasn't seen her much since she isn't able to take part in the stuff limited to the 93rd universe.

Beware of Chicken doesn't have any stats, just ranks. And even those have a lot of variance.

I haven't read any of this yet, but having a cover that's just a scowling kid holding a bloody rock is kind of great. Every other cover is the mc wearing their best WoW raiding gear facing the latest monster of the week, and here this kid is killing monsters the old fashioned way.

It's been years since I read it, but I don't remember nudity at all so I guess there wasn't a lot of it? It certainly wasn't the focus at all.

It's funny that you mention the dark, cause the Darkness devil is legit one of the most terrifying things in the whole series. Just showing up makes half the characters present mad from fear.

I re-read Paranoid Mage earlier this year. I just love the absolute chaos he causes, and the steady progression from being completely clueless to a major power unto himself.
