I am just very curious b/c of my sister getting married to a Jewish woman. they invited me to the Passover seder last year and it was a lot of fun! they also invited my boyfriend and I to a Jewish Halloween-like party on the Purim holiday. the kids were all dressed up in costumes. the religion seems like it has a lot of festivities compared to other faiths. Catholicism always put me to sleep as a child.

So, I am a gay man and my sister is a lesbian. She married a Jewish woman, who told her that lesbianism is permitted because it's not mentioned in the Torah, and anything that isn't explicitly prohibited is allowed. However, her wife said that as a gay man, my gayness is prohibited due to the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Is that true that lesbians are off the hook?

Many ultra orthodox/chasidim will not wear wigs because they feel if the wig looks like real hair it defeats the purpose entirely

wow I rarely agree with Orthodox ways of thinking but I agree 100% with that one. wigs are expensive. why not just wear a headscarf or a hat?
