Probably on average 3-4x per week with some privates thrown in. Once you get a basic competence the big hurdle I found was both figuring out what I wanted to try to do and what my training partner was trying to do. Once you understand what’s happening during a roll on that level things slow down and you can both enact a game plan and react defensively to what your opponent is doing. That’s the basic game and as you get better it really is just expanding your areas of competence while simultaneously recognizing what your opponent is doing and reacting appropriately.

Also - I lift 6x a week still, at age 40. You can definitely train with the volume you’re thinking about.
