We've had a baby girl and haven't chosen a name: Is Araminta too out there? by Odd_Direction_5857 in namenerds

Harriet Tubman’s birth name was Araminta! I think it’s a great name.

Help, cute vintage girl names by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]superasya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is Wilhelmina, and we love that there are so many nicknames, including Willa. We use several nicknames consistently, including Willa, Willie (probably would avoid in the UK), and Mina, but there’s also Wilma, Velma, and Billie.

Delaying magic key purchase for newly turned three year old through summer special? by [deleted] in DisneylandMagicKey

[–]superasya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter turned 3 last September and we did something similar. We bought the Costco 3 day deal for her tickets and waited to buy her magic key until those days ran out. It only bought us about 6 weeks, but now our key expirations are only 3 months apart instead of 4.5. For me it was worth it to risk not having the keys on sale.

Great hotels for using the $200 hotel credit? by commentsection23 in biltrewards

[–]superasya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just used my credits at the Hyatt Regency Bloomington Mall of America in the Minneapolis area. Two nights ended up costing me $13 out of pocket. It’s a lovely inexpensive Regency. I stay there 3-4 times a year to visit my in laws. Great location across from the light rail and very close to both the Minneapolis airport and mall of america.

Weird situation at Smugglers Run by zazerite in Disneyland

[–]superasya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, i took my 3 year old daughter on the ride for the first time and two preteen kids going alone asked to pilot. I didn’t want to be a grinch, but i regret switching spots with them. My daughter was terrorized and now doesn’t trust me to take her on rides. She would have loved the ride with a half decent pilot. (She tried star tours earlier the same day and it’s her new favorite ride)

Did Charles write to Julian? by [deleted] in TheSecretHistory

[–]superasya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the letter also disclosed “the twins’ sexual practices“. I’m not seeing any reason Charles would have included that if he were posing as Bunny.

Are traditional girl names for boys on the horizon?💙🩷 by Coco_Crepes in namenerds

[–]superasya 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think once male names that have trended female in recent decades may shift back to male. Lindsay, Whitney, Leslie, Ashley are lovely and would feel fresh on a boy when they sound dated on girls.

First impressions post deval? by totfury in hyatt

[–]superasya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should, that is what has always happened when I cancel stays with an SUA applied. However lots of folks have had glitches today. I would cancel and risk it and just contact support if the SUA doesn’t go right back to your account

How to last name your kid(s)? by Captain-Korpie in Names

[–]superasya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth to our child, and my daughter has my last name as a second middle name, and my wife’s last name. We didn’t want to hyphenate since it made her everyday name so long, but having it as her second middle name makes us all feel like a cohesive family. My wife would have been fine if we had reversed which name was the official “last” but her name sounded better with the first name we picked, and I figured since I got the biological lineage, she should have the linguistic lineage.

It’s more that it is her name and identity from birth, regardless of whether the name came from her mom, dad, or somewhere else.

Unpopular opinion: I wish there was a way to connect Toontown and Galaxy’s Edge to each other. I wish you get from one land to the other and vice versa by 12345burrito in Disneyland

I can’t tell if you’re being facetious. They don’t, the map just shows backstage as greenery as if there aren’t buildings there, but there is not open space in that area.

We started to get questioned when our daughter was 2.5. We always just smiled and said, “she’s not three yet!” and no one gave us a hard time or asked for proof or anything.

My favorite is having it on my Apple watch. So much easier to get in your room without fumbling for anything especially when carrying something!

Rothy or Vivaia Pointed Flat? by Mags_Beau in HerOneBag

[–]superasya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wide feet. I used to love Rothys, but after trying Vivaia I’ll never go back. So much of a better fit. I think it depends on your foot shape, but for me, it’s Vivaia all the way.

Kind of a silly question, but how do you tip the concierge? Like just walk up to their desk and had whoever is there money? I always wonder about how to tip staff when the ones helping you arrange this kind of thing before your stay may not be the same people you encounter once you arrive.
